Cómpeta is a small, beautiful and quaint little town on the Andalusia mountains, surrounded by wineries and winding roads. Cute little restaurants, bars and cafés for eating or watching the world go by. You can drive to the town square but it's easiest to walk around and explore the little alleys and shops. It has a slight hippie vibe to it with many crystal shops. Very queer friendly. We spotted raindow flags all around the city and tons of queer folk. A lovely location.
A lovely location. Well worth visiting this incredible Spanish village. Very welcoming and friendly. Evening meal enjoyed at small restaurant in the central square enjoyed immensely. Great experience exploring and wandering the streets of the Old Town and experiencing what one imagines is the real Spanish lifestyle. Town market on Saturday. We have often stopped here when in Competa and wondered what it would be like to stay at the hotel. It was great and a good way to experience the more local side of Competa rather than sticking to the centre, which tends to full of expats. No other food available during the day, however the local village is only a 25min walk or 5min in a car. Some lovely restaurants to choose from.
