The place is clean and the hostess is very helpful and friendly. The views from the front of the hotel are amazing, with nice weather it is pleasant to enjoy the outdoor space. Breakfast is quite nice. Free parking is on the territory. We stayed in the basement room with the fireplace and it was very cosy. However, since the room is the basement it could be quite damp and cold during Autumn and Winter. It was middle of September, so it was still fine. Also the fireplace kept us warm and entertained in the evenings.

Nicely renovated hotel in a historic building in a nice little town. Very friendly staff (English speaking). Nice, comfortable modern rooms with fridge. Fantastic breakfast (the cook is so nice)!! Parking is free in the street down the road, a short walk away.

Lovely garden for drinks and reading. Great breakfast. Simple and small but perfectly fine room, with modern bathroom. We lunched at Extebarri and it was a perfect place to stay. It has changed a lot since we were here twelve years ago!

Although parking was difficult, I did find a spot within 200 yards and my car was still there in the morning. The town is old world and charming and the hotel is a lovely quaint old building with great features. The town centre shops and bars etc are right there outside the door, I even took advantage of the closeness and had a haircut. The place is well worth a visit but it is not convenient for one night travelling. It's too far from the main road routes.

Elgeta is tiny, so there's not much to do, with only 1,100 inhabitants. There's a nice little cafe for a drink, though; cider is typical there, so it's fun to try it. The small town center has some beautiful buildings, and the surrounding area is lovely. If you happen to be in the area, it's a nice place to visit, but you don't have to go out of your way to do so.

Above all, the hosts are unbeatable. The beds are large and very comfortable; in short, everything was perfect. Thank you, Izarra and Jesus, and another girl who is super friendly, kind, and very helpful. I would definitely return.

We (3 adults) were warmly welcomed into a room with a mezzanine. The bed in the mezzanine was very comfortable, unlike the bed in the main room (poor quality mattress) occupied by one adult. The indoor and outdoor spaces were very pleasant.

Perched high up, Elgeta boasts spectacular views of the...

Perched high up, Elgeta boasts spectacular views of the Basque mountains... and an imposing church. We were also surprised by the old, abandoned factory. We recommend staying and dining at Casa Maialde, as there aren't many options in the village itself.

Authentic, comfortable and friendly hotel. Really enjoyed our stay - a welcome stop after cycling there from Bilbao. What was refreshing about the hotel was that it was a genuine country hotel not a bland chain.
