A few things to see in Granada, the best attractions are the Alhambra and the Cathedral. For the Alhambra, it is recommended to allocate 4-5 hours. Beautiful town! Never felt unsafe. The Alhambra was an amazing place BUT, please spend the money to have a tour. There are no explanations for what you are seeing so to get the most of the palaces, take a tour. Also the caves in sacromonte - where the gypsys lived is an eye opener. Only €5 admission with 11 caves (homes) to explore. It’s a bit of a hike but also provide some of the best views of the Alhambra and summer palace.Guest review bybrettAustralia - 8.0

I thought the old town area was very interesting but there were a lot of take away/sit in type places to eat and I found it difficult to find nicer restaurants, I would recommend you research this before travelling. The temperature in August was too hot for us as a family and if I was to visit again I would go earlier or later in the year. The people were very nice and the general standard of the food we did get was good. The shops were a bit repetitive in the old part of the town but the new part had what you would expect any bigger city/town in Spain to have including some nice bespoke boutique and jewellary shops.Guest review byNicolaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

When you go, you must visit The Alhambra, I went with a guide, which has whetted my appetite to learn more about the history of Spain. The hotel itself is rather basic (no real communal areas so it felt more like a block of private rooms than a hotel) - and the rooms were rather dated, but the beds were very comfortable and the place was scrupulously clean.
