Absolutely brilliant location that is off the beaten track to immerse ourselves in the mountains, totally away from lights and noise except for the gentle jingling of the cow/sheep/goat bells........bliss. We did get worried when we had about 10 consecutive 'blast' (like quarry mines) echoing and vibrating at near midnight. Turns out this is to do with the village festive. We went along the next day. Most interesting and took great photos. Nice walk around the hotel amongst the chestnut forrest and to the village.

Magica says it all! It’s just got to be one of the most stunning hotel locations I’ve stayed at. That’s not all the hotel itself is beautiful too, with lovely quaint rooms. Ours was a junior suite (G) nice and spacious with huge bath too relax in after long humid walks! The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of the way to make your stay as perfect as possible. The food menu is quite limited in choice that changes every evening. The four evening meals we had were exceptionally delicious and I mean 10/10 tasty! The serving staff were always charming and made us feel very welcome. To me it was really obvious the staff were extremely happy to be working at this very lovely place. If you have happy staff then you definitely on your way to a perfect hotel. For us it was just that, Perfect!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

In a world where you pay the car park with an app and deal with the airline claim via a chat…you come to this hotel to feel human again… The customer service provided by Javier, José Antonio and their team goes beyond expectations, they literally look after you during the whole stay. They also recommend places to go locally, with an excellent knowledge of the area. Local beaches are a 15 minute drive, also Poncejos (Cares trail) and Arriondas (descent of Sella river) are about 40 minutes away. The hotel is located in a beautiful place, surrounded by mountains, and with the only noise of a river flow nearby. Breakfast is generous and healthy. Plenty of free car park. Wifi signal is good. I did really enjoy the tranquility of this hotel and the local walks. Definitely a place to come back again.

Beautiful location, fabulous building and rooms, amazing food. Manuel and his colleagues couldn't do enough to help us, particularly with our very bad grasp of Spanish. We even witnessed Spain beating France to go through to the Euro Finals on Sunday (hopefully against us). We will be back!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed one night while walking the Camino de Santiago - Northern route. Excellent place to have a good rest with a nice garden, lovely views and very close to the beach and supermarket, private bathroom and comfortable beds, everything was spotlessly clean! We want to highlight that Veronica and David are excellent hosts, they are kind and positive people that made us feel at home straight away. Gracias por la calidez y hospitalidad ☺️

    We knew that the house wasn’t big.

    We knew that the house wasn’t big. It was enough for four of us. With all the accommodations that you may need. The house was not clean as we want but clean enough, from our point of view. No soap or shower gel or shampoo as amenities when we arrived. Another chapter were the beds! The double one was a 135cm double bed, too small for us. We didn’t know that at the booking time. It was a big surprise but the bigger surprise was that all of the beds were really uncorfortable, and I slept in all of them. My son’s beds included!! The house is small but we’ll located and enough for a 4 pax family. The terrace is nice and we used it very much

    Nice location in a quite little village, nice hidden beaches and ocean blowholes in (little longer) walking distance. Nearby village Nueva is very nice! Also the beach Playa de Cueva is wonderful and has a nice beach bar. Appartment is nice and quite and outside seating is nice as well. You need some Navi to find the place in Hontoria.

    Charming old hotel furnished with tasteful antique furniture in keeping with the age of the hotel, but the rooms had modern bathrooms. There was a lounge area with tea and coffee which was nice to sit in during the evening. A lovely breakfast. Cristina the hotel owner was very nice and helpful.
