The staff was excellent! All of them were so normal and nice. The room was above our expectations, we got probably a bigger room because it was our honeymoon. Everything was 10/10. When we come again to Malaga we will stay in the same hotel 100%. And also if we go on holiday in any other city where this chain has a hotel we will stay in.

It is a fantastic hotel, the best we saw in the resort. The town is a short walk along the coast and a very worthwhile tour on foot with great architecture and medieval buildings. The restaurants in town are better than those along the coast.

What a wonderful hotel! Absolutely faultless. Location - perfect for everything! Malaga is full of Museums and Galleries within walking distance to the hotel. Malaga is busy but spacious and has glorious gardens and tree lined streets. The hotel is close to harbouring, super yachts and little walk to the beach along a lovely shaded walkway. Walk a bit further and you see sardines and other fish being grilled on open barbecues. The shops are across the road…..many high end shops along with various shops accommodating all price ranges. Bars and restaurants are all around the hotel and during our 6 days stay never had a disappointing meal! The pubs were great too and had great character. Service - The hotel staff are very friendly indeed and greet you each time you enter or leave the hotel. They seem to really want you to enjoy your stay with them. Breakfast - This is in a smallish space below the ground floor. Two beautiful girls seem to run it, with amazing efficiency and care. Everything they do is done so well and the place is spotlessly clean (I really hope their employers appreciate how exceptional they are!) The place was always half occupied, regardless of what time we came down for breakfast. It is entirely self-service. The food is fresh and put out little and often. Continental breakfast or English with lovely cheeses, fruits, pastries and everything else! Roof top bar - This is great! On our arrival there was a sign saying that the rooftop bar was full…..this was for people outside the hotel. We went for a look and there was space for us. Priority is given to hotel guests. Only once on Friday night, we saw it ‘very’ busy and even then, there was available space for us. Drinks are lovely, more expensive than some of the bars but as expected for a beautiful hotel and you get a decent measure!

FAQs about hotels in Málaga

The Colourful Soul of the Costa del Sol

The birthplace of Picasso is as colourful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place amongst the youthful square of the old centre, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.

There’'s also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.

A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga’s most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 10 km from the centre of town.

From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your sunny holiday.

Malaga has an integrated transport system and there was no need for us to use anything other than public transport. Even further out locations like Frigiliana and Torremolinos can be reached using public transport. The food is excellent and inexpensive, and the Spanish people are warm, friendly and welcoming.

I only spent one incomplete day at Málaga, but I found plenty to enjoy there. For an art lover, the Picasso Museum itself is worth a few hours (on top of an excellent Picasso collection, it has a whole room of art contemporary to his). The Cathedral certainly merits a longer visit than my 45 minutes, and the walk around the Alcazaba is a treat (make sure to arrive a few hours before closing time to still take in the Palace). I spent a great evening strolling the Malagueta beach and eating at Gaucho Grill -- a very friendly, festive place. I'm sure to be back in Andalusia for another visit to Málaga.

Málaga is a very busy city.

Málaga is a very busy city. If you like places with lots of people and a wide range of leisure options — nightlife, restaurants, and so on — Málaga is a good choice. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, it may not be the best option, as the city is very touristy and crowded everywhere. You need to pay attention to your personal belongings and be aware of possible scams.

Malaga is a very compact city with lots to see and do.

Malaga is a very compact city with lots to see and do. There’s a wide range of retail opportunities from tourist crap (pmf) to high-end fashion jewellery, fashion, accessories etc and everything between. There are several really good high-end restaurants but very many budget options too. Malaga is largely pedestrianised and mostly flat. Malaga is suitable for all budgets. I feel safe in Malaga and I’m not concerned about the safety of my companions It is very close to the efficient airport. Our flight landed at 19:50 and we were in our accommodation by 20:45. We were sat down for dinner by 9 pm. The train journey from the airport to the city is clean, quick, usually reliable and good value. You don’t have to venture far from the city centre to find areas where you need a little knowledge of Spanish; which is helpful if you are keen to practice your language skills like me.

Malaga is a good place to start one's adventure in Andalusia. It is not overly touristic (well, maybe apart from Semana Santa celebrations) city, but with vibrant life, fascinating city center (old Roman theater and impressive Maurish Alcazaba castle), but also well connected - by bus or train - with neighbouring towns and beaches or popular city destinations.
