I stayed in Albergue San Anton a few years back and I was glad to see the originals owners were still there. I decided to book a double room for myself since I did not sleep well the previous night. I was very glad I did! The room was very spacious, clean and warm when I arrived and there was plenty of hot water and a decent sized shower!

I can’t rate this property highly enough. The host was extremely helpful, leaving supplies in the fridge for us. The apartment is gorgeous, great showers, central, spacious, close to Camino. Not a negative to say.

We only stayed a night because we were on the Camino.

We only stayed a night because we were on the Camino. We would have wanted to stay longer, the city had many historic places and old churches, but a many were closed (we were there on a Sunday). There was a farmer's market which had many interesting artisanal food. The cafes were bustling - we only had time for churros con chocolate (where we ordered double because it was sooo good) - but there were many food places - bakeries, pastry shops, cheese, jamon, and everything in between. Would love to come back and spend more time in this beautiful city. The city was bounded by mini forests which was a joy to traverse, with the trail dotted by chestnuts.

While we stayed in Furelos, we were a short walk to Melide. We loved the food especially the octopus at Garnacha. Additionally, we enjoyed visiting St. Anthony Chapel. There are many stores should you need to pickup supplies on your Camino route.

It's a lively town with many festivals during the summer.

It's a lively town with many festivals during the summer. It's close to several places to visit, such as Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, and Lugo. It's especially popular with pilgrims. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it.

The narrow stone streets, the various monuments, the...

The narrow stone streets, the various monuments, the peaceful village life... all make it clear that three days isn't enough. The town hall's assistance with guides on the different hiking trails in and around the village is much appreciated. We had the typical octopus at A Garnacha and dinner at Cas Novita.

We loved the city, its church, and museum.

We loved the city, its church, and museum. We also took a bus to Santiago and didn't have to walk to the stop. The people were very friendly and willing to help us. It was also the meeting point for several of the pilgrims who followed us on the Primitive Way.

It's the midpoint of the Palas de Rey-Arzúa stage, a good place for those who can't complete the whole stage to rest. If you feel you have a bit of energy, you should continue, as the rest of the stage from Melide onwards is quite easy.

We were asked to check in at Lux Melide since the building of Pension Berenguela doesn't have a receptionist. Allowed to use facilities of Lux Melide which was useful since they have their own laundry service at the basement. Very good breakfast food choices (at Lux Melide). There is a yummy chucherria place beside Lux Melide. Pension is a few meters walk to/from the hotel. Our room at Pension is just simple with a small window, bathroom, and TV.

The staff were LOVELY, could not have been more helpful. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the centre of town and with a handy grocery store 2 minutes walk away. The bed was every bit as comfortable as in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Most people who stay here will be pilgrims spending one night, and that is sufficient time to enjoy the area. The (shared) bathroom was spotless.

A very beautiful albergue, in the very center of Melide and on the Camino way. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast amazing. The bread and cookies were homemade. Very , very nice experience. Thank you!
