While not primarily a tourist town, Pontedeume is on the Camino Ingles and has lots of through hikers. We found it to be a prosperous and typical Galician town, in pretty valley overlooking the tidal Rio Eume, and used it as a base of operations for exploring the nearby Rias Atlas and Fragas do Eume, for which it was perfect, and a more quaint setting than larger A Coruña or Ferrol.Guest review byKen from SlidellUnited States

The place was clean, a kilometer away from the Santiago de Compostela walk from the town of Pontedeume, but you can also get to the route no problem without backtracking to Pontedeume.
