Great location for exploring Picos de Europa. We found ourselves in a nice room with a balcony/porch with absolutely stunning views over the mountains. Breakfast was really nice, too. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They also prepare home made dinners, although the menu is pretty limited. There is also a nice self-service bar with a great variety of drinks (which we did not use but looked awesome :)) Make sure you try their house cider!

The hostess was very caring and helpful from the reception until we left. The place is very nicely decorated and with a luxurious feel. Very meticulous. A comfortable room equipped with good towels and bed linen. Feels very clean. A rich buffet breakfast in a spectacular "wow" dining room with windows to the green garden. We really enjoyed the whole stay. A chance to say thank you again.

I have stayed in the 2* Hotel Canal in Unquera for a week in...

I have stayed in the 2* Hotel Canal in Unquera for a week in early October almost every year since 2015 while attending an annual classic motorcycle rally in neighbouring Colombres. Unquera is a small town near to the coast on the border of Calabria and Asturias. It is on one of the more popular Camino routes and close to the Picos de Europa. The town has several bars, restaurants and basic shops. I would not describe Unquera as a tourist destination, but as a working town with all of the usual facilities of a small community. I like it for that.

The village is quieter than the surrounding ones but has excellent transport links for both the Picos de Europa mountains and Asturias. The descent of the Deva River is highly recommended. We'll be back.

It's located in a magnificent spot, on the border of...

It's located in a magnificent spot, on the border of Cantabria and Asturias, on the banks of the Deba River. From there, you can easily travel and visit the entire Cantabrian coast; the wonderful towns and villages of both regions. The town itself is small, well-maintained, and has all the necessary amenities.

Although it's a small village, it has good amenities (pharmacy, supermarkets, bakery, restaurants, etc.) and is well-connected by road. The downside is the lack of urban planning and the buildings don't have the charm of other villages in Cantabria.

The apartment was very well located in a very quiet area, very clean and with all amenities, and there was ample parking. Fernando, the host, was very friendly and attentive. It's a perfect location for visiting any part of Asturias or Cantabria. A 10 out of 10 in every way.

Looks like a normal hotel from the outside but it had the most powerful shower I have ever experienced. Better than a 5-star hotel or those jets in the spa. Like a deep tissue massage in the shower. Amazing.
