Everything was perfect ! The location is near to the forest so you can quickly go to see the northern lights, the staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a huge buffet, If you don’t wanna go out for lunch and dinner, the kitchen is pretty good too !

This accomodation has very nice interior, everything is new. Location is peaceful and calm near the lake. It is close to supermarket, restaurants, pub and agency for booking trips and activities. This place was very clean, kitchen is well equipped, there is also sauna, etc. Host was very nice and communicative, he was taking really good care of us and was always ready with every information and help that we needed. He informed us on time about everything that could be important for our stay in the area. I would recommend this object to everybody and really hope to return here at least once again someday.

Located within minutes of all services of Äkäslompolo, it's perfect even if you arrive without a car as the bus stop is just across the road. The apartment is exactly as in the photos. Clean, nice furniture and high quality textiles (Finlayson towels and bed linen), comfy bed. Wifi is strong and solid, was no problem working there remotely. The staff was super helpful, I arrived to Äkäslompolo early so I had a few hours to kill before the official check-in time but I was allowed to bring my bags to the apartment while they were cleaning after the previous quests, and I also got the apartment much earlier than the official check-in time was. Thank you, I'd love to come back 🙂.

Lovely house in great location, sense of privacy even if there are other houses around. Lovely sauna with direct access to the garden for refreshing dip in the snow! The mezzanine great for kids den. Wifi was great an added bonus was acces to streaming services and music.

So great to watch the northern lights without any hassle.

So great to watch the northern lights without any hassle. Just above you while you are on bed or few steps from your cabin. Just install the northernlight alert app and go enjoy your stay within the premises , it will sent alerts for the area you’re in and that’s what we did. Realy great experience and so magnificent to see the dancing colorful northern lights . Breathtaking . The location is perfect away from the city however the city center is not too far only around 5-6 kilometers.

This was a lovely place to stay.

This was a lovely place to stay. Bigger than some Lapland places we have stayed in but not too big. Probably around 5/6 restaurants and pubs, a really good supermarket and alko shop. Only a 5 min bus ride from the north slopes of Yllas ski resort and plenty of outdoor adventure companies providing the standard stuff - snowmobiles, huskies, northern lights etc.

Great amenities including an extensive network of cross country ski trails with a supermarket, a few shops, restaurants and sports shops in the centre and amazing boreal forest all around. Known as The Village Surrounded By Seven Fells (hills), Äkäslompolo is a place where you can ski and ski, easily getting away to more remote places. There are small cabins dotted about in the forest (all well signposted) where you can buy food and hot or cold drinks (or even stay the night at some) and others where there are fire pits and traditional "kota" shelters where you can rest, warm up and cook sausages. Great for adults and kids alike. Some of the groomed trails pass over the hills and above the tree line so there are good views along the way. The trail network caters for walkers, skiers, cyclists and skiers with dogs, all in the same vicinity, but sufficiently separated for safety and enjoyment. There are saunas at almost all the accommodations and lake / river swimming or plunge pools year round. Good public transport links to Kittila airport, Kolari train station and Rovaniemi.

Fantastic skiing atmosphere.

Fantastic skiing atmosphere. Everywhere skiing tracks and no matter of time people on tracks. Ski resort has a lot of off-piste skiing areas. Temperature in Febrauary can surprise skiiers from south :) Viseversa on mountain temperatures were up to 20 degrees milder that in valley. Landscape is absoultely mindblowingly beautiful. Our week long stay was too short and we defenately will be back for hiking season or longer cross country skiing vacation.

Great little town, supermarket has everything, restaurants are great, but closed in evenings after 6 due to Covid. Eat out in the afternoon's instead. Loads to do, saw spectacular aurora (northern lights) most every night. Bus from kittila airport is easy.

Äkäslompolo is a charming village that has not yet been affected too much by tourism. Restaurant Rouhetta can be recommended for evening meals and is almost next to the cottage. Restaurant Eväskori serves the best pizzas.

It was absolutely amazing. Even better than we could imagine. Host, cottage, location are the best. We had the most magical time in Äkäslompolo. Thanks Simon for everything. We hope to visit there again soon. A big K Market supermarket, together with other shops, restaurants, lakes, forest trails just 5 min walking, Yllas ski resort 5 min drive, the cottage is so clean, warm, well equipped, cozy. We loved sauna and chimney. I highly recommend it. The owners are so friendly and nice. We had a really great experience.

The houses are really nice and spacious, well equipped, beds are comfortable. The stove heats well and you have your own sauna and a common closed fireplace for BBQ. You are in walking distance to all commodities and there is lots to do in the surrondings (also outside the snow season : we did hiking, biking, canoeing and aurora watching). A big thank you to Kimberley and Yannick who helped us with every request we had. It's just great to have so nice contact person just next door if needed.

Very nice and calm location. Views from the cabin were amazing and could see the norther lights from them. Very friendly staff. We booked the 3-course dinner which was delicious and the space is cozy. Breakfast was also delicious and with lots of choices
