The stay was excellent. I felt like being in an hotel in the USA National Parks... The hotel was new, rooms and especially beds were extremely comfortable, breakfast was great and we had dinner one night and it was good and at a reasonable price. Sauna available for guests (for free). Driving to the national park is only a couple of kilometres. Overall a great experience and we will definitely come back!

The location of Paimentupa is excellent. It is located around Koli National Park. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery at any time. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Paimentupa to the trailhead. In less than an hour, you can hike to Paha-Koli, Akka-Koli and Ukko-Koli, and other hiking trails. The layout and color of the room are elegant and warm, and it is also very clean. It makes people feel like home and very comfortable. It is highly recommended to those who want to travel to Koli National Park. I stayed three nights and really enjoyed my stay there. Paimentupa also offers horseback riding experiences on forest trails, which is also highly recommended. The owner provided considerable assistance, making it smooth for me to get there even by public transportation.

A very nice house for 1-2 families depending on the number of kids. It has everything one needs, is comfortable and the location and view are great. The sauna and everything else was very clean and well maintained. Hint: The complete address for the building is Merilänrannantie 68e, not just 68 as in the listing.

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years...

Koli National Park was formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion during the Ice Age, so the trails and hills are covered with large and small rocks. There are rich landscape changes during the journey. In autumn, the leaves are dyed red, yellow and orange. With a variety of colorful scenes, Koli National Park is a great place to enjoy autumn scenery. Climbing up the hills, you will see a 180-degree view of the lake unfolding in front of you, and you will be shocked by the magnificent scenery - and the trails are also very beautiful. The signs are very clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you’re walking alone.

There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village,...

There is a good shop and hotel in the middle of the village, plus also another hotel on the top of the hill "Koli". Neart he village also "Räsävaara" observation tower allowing good views to the forest landscape and lake. Also the new hotel in the Kolinkylä village is easy to see from observation tower. You need a car to get around.

It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking...

It's a small but cute little place with excellent hiking options. Few other locations along with Koli are close by in case you wish to see more. Very easy to get to see the Akka-, Ukko- and Paha-Koli and enjoy the view to lake Pielinen. I recommend to drive also to the harbour and see lake Pielinen also from the shore.

Relatively good selection in Sale.

Relatively good selection in Sale. Several restaurants to choose from, there were also plenty of vegan options. A bit expensive though. We didn't travel during the sports holidays, so there were very few people, but I can imagine it being a bit more crowded if you are there during the sports holidays.

I enjoyed the accommodation at Kolin Keitaa and the Koli...

I enjoyed the accommodation at Kolin Keitaa and the Koli Blues event, which was a nice walk along a forest path from the accommodation. I enjoyed not needing a car at all the whole weekend, all movement was done comfortably along well-marked paths. The paths were very easy to walk on because it was dry now, last year during the rain there was slippery clay and slippery roots in places.

A perfect holiday destination if you're looking for an...

A perfect holiday destination if you're looking for an active holiday. There's plenty to do and see here. The hotel on the upper slope also has a decent spa, with three hot tubs offering breathtaking views, which are nice to enjoy with a bubble bath.

Very good location for the house (AP3), you can see the lake just from the window in the living room. Lot of space even for a big company (but take into account that there is only one shower in the house). The house is equipped with almost everything needed, a dishwasher / washing machine is available that is very nice. We were forced to buy our own cooking oil and sugar, but based on my experience these products should be available in such a kind of property.

Wonderful cabin in the middle of the beautiful finnish nature, excellent view to the lake. Very quiet, almost no disturbance from vehicles. A 12 km drive from the Koli National Park, and on this drive we saw cranes, black grouses and a moose. The cabin is spacious, clean and it contains all you need.

We had an amazing and relaxing stay! The staff was friendly, helpful and we also got treats for our dog from staff. <3 The spa was great with nice views and hiking in Koli was accessible and pleasant. Also, the restaurant served delicious food and nice service. Thank you for the pleasant experience!
