Tarcies and Charles are the best hosts ever; sincere, welcoming, charming, humorous. We opted for dinner both nights and wow, what an experience. Not only did Tarcies prepare and cook the most extraordinary food, mostly comprising very local ingredients, Charles also has an epic wine list which betters the majority of restaurants I frequent. I am convinced noone will be disappointed electing to have dinner here; it's an epic experience. My wife availed herself of the freshwater swimming pool and reported that it was 'refreshing' and 'amazing'. I watched from the safety of the decking with a cold beer!!! Breakfast was lovely, including eggs freshly collected from the hens in the garden. The accommodation itself is very classy and our spacious room was perfect in every respect. Charles and Tarcies recommended an app for mountain biking in the region and we had a superb ride as a result, through Ambert and into the hills and forests beyond. I travel a lot and can safely say that La Vaisse is 10/10. Tarcies should have a Michelin *

Welcomed to what I call complete HEAVEN . Immediately encompassed wilt a calm feeling from Evelin and Jessica and their dog Buddy . Everything you could ever need for a self contained apartment , the view is amazing and the silence heals the mind and soul . The pool is an added bonus for me . Everything was immaculate. The restaurant on site was wonderful and the food freshly prepared , they even catered for me being Gluten free and adapted their menu accordingly. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh eggs from their own chickens ., If you’re looking for peace and tranquility, amazing hospitality don’t think twice , you will feel as though you are at home ! My dog became friends with not only the owners and also Buddy their dog and was free to run around and also felt at home too . A real bonus when travelling with a pet .

It was very beautiful and peaceful. The decor was very sympathetic to the history of the chateau and tastefully done. We felt very relaxed and comfortable. There was great ‘energy’ to the place.

Very pleasant and welcoming host! The communication, although we didn't speak the same language, was very easy and fast. The whole house is incredibly beautiful and nice for some days off, you are completely cut off from any civilisation. We would definitely come again! Merci Natalie.

    We went for a meeting of the Assoc.

    We went for a meeting of the Assoc. Nationale des Amis des Anes which provides safety and security to 300 donkeys around Ambert so we were fully engaged with that and didn't have much time for tourism. Sunday night eating out is a problem with most restaurants closed but at other times there are enough places serving a wide variety of French cuisine.
