We love everything about this place, but the cleanliness is on the excellent level. This is one of the most clean places we have ever been. Rooms are lovely and fresh with eir-con and spacious bathrooms. There is a vending machine with hot and cold drinks and snacks. Breakfast is available at the property. We traveled with our dog which wasn't a problem at all (€6 fee). B&B Hotel is located in city centre within walking distance from shops, bars, restaurants etc. Staff speaks English. We are very happy and will return in the future.

We arrived in a taxi and Adam came and got our luggage and took it to our room while we checked in! This was special and after a reasonably long day of travelling - well-received. I liked our huge room, our balcony over-looking the cathedral, the breakfasts and the reception staff - Aurelion(?) and Dhouia(?). The 8£ taxi ride from the train station was good as well.

We came for the Rederie.

We came for the Rederie. Overall we had an excellent experience. Huge event, very well organised, the streets felt super safe and secure. We found lots of good and interesting things at fair prices. We enjoyed our interactions with the majority of stall holders. BUT - one sour note, we found some traders suggesting ludicrous prices - vingt-quatre euros for things not worth vingt euros. We suspected that they were offering special prices for the English. And this was confirmed - we overheard several saying things like "When we hear the English accent we put the price up!" Well take note - a)most English people understand French and b) that attitude spoils things for everyone .... We would also have liked there to have been a higher percentatge of more specialist stalls - a very high percentage of the stalls seemed to have a pretty random selection of items for sale rather than focussing on specific areas of art and design. This made it difficult to tell one street from another. Amiens is a handsome city, with very good buildings from all ages, and very clean, civilised streets. And its very easy, and enjoyable, to get around - on foot. Meanwhile, the city bus network is excellent - the buses are frequent, inexpensive and its easy to buy tickets and understand destinations and correspondences. We LOVED the museum. Fabulous collections - archeology, paintings, sculpture. Brilliantly curated and displayed. Marvellously informative labels. Superb architecture - inside and out.

Visit this city for local attractions and probably WW1 history for people that are into war history. Driving out of this town leads you to the Somme battle field where one of biggest battle of the WW1 took place.

I used Amiens as a base to visit important historical sites...

I used Amiens as a base to visit important historical sites in surrounding towns and villages. The Cathedral is the largest Gothic construction. The parks and canal boat tour is recommended. Although in France the cradle of gastronomic food, I also enjoyed Turkish food on offer not far from the B&B. Well priced and fresh, meat done on charcoal.

Around the train station, Amiens was rather ordinary.

Around the train station, Amiens was rather ordinary. I was surprised by the giant awning over the plaza near the hotel. Walking north to the centre of town gave a little more charm. The Cathedral is majestic and imposing. Going further north, the Somme river is gorgeous, with the 'quai' restaurants. South of the Cathedral is the Musée de Picardie - a must see with three levels - prehistoric, medieval and recent past, chock-full of artefacts and information. Many gaulish and roman coins, dinosaur bones, statues and busts, and truly beautiful paintings to rival those in the Louvres.

Amiens it is well connected to both Paris and the Beauvais...

Amiens it is well connected to both Paris and the Beauvais airport, thus it wasn’t difficult to add a few days in this city to the trip to Paris and it was well worth it. The city is very nice, I liked a lot the city center, the Saint Leu district, the food, Verne's house. The Cathedral is superb.

Room was comfortable / clean. Bed was comfy. Location of hotel was exactly fine for us. We visited Amiens for the Xmas market and the hotel was literally at the start. We could walk up one side of the street and back down the other. Parking was 5/10 minute walk. We parked under the cinema just a street down and was there just short of 24hrs costing €13. Breakfast was continental at a cost of €12.50 each. There is a tourist tax but think this was like €1.50

The hotel is handily sited over the Amiens 2 public car park and is central to all the main tourist sites of the city including the cathedral, the historic riverside and the floating gardens. Rooms are small but are exceptionally comfortable with all the usual amenities. Breakfast was very good.. A special mention for Eva at reception who was exceptionally welcoming, personable and patiently answered all our questions.

For this type of "formula hotel" i was very surprised. Staff were great, receptionist could see I was exhausted and got me my key very quickly and told me about the Cathederal light show that evening which was amazing! As I was alone I ended up eating in the restaurant which was absolutely brilliant. Lovely waiter and steak and chips. Pleasantly surprised and loved Amiens and would go back again one day.

It is an old hotel without a lift and one has to be careful when descending the stairs with suitcases.It is ideally situated in the heart of Amiens and its magnificent cathedral is a few minutes away on foot together with a high street ideal for shopping ,restaurants and bars.The people in the reception were very friendly and helpful.
