We booked Les Tonnelles just for 1 night as a stop over on...
We booked Les Tonnelles just for 1 night as a stop over on our way up through France. It was perfect for that, with easy parking right outside, friendly staff (who spoke a bit of English), great food in the small restaurant, and a comfortable room. All at a good price. It is easy to visit the Renoir museum in Essoyes, the Napoleon museum in Chateau Le Brienne, and the city of Troyes. Bar-sur-Seine is small but interesting, with a good range of shops, supermarkets and bars. It was lovely to have free parking within the property's huge grounds, and the accommodation was well designed and ample for our needs. Good rooms and a well presented bistro type restaurant seemingly much patronised by locals. We have stayed in both the suites - eccentric and great fun, and in the standard rooms which are a decent size and well appointed.
