Fantastic host's Julian & his wife couldn't do enough for you, room was excellent well equipped & spotlessly clean, Julian is the chef, had 2 evening meals, & the food was excellent. Would definately like to go back just to stay & eat at this small friendly run family hotel. Couldn't stay any longer due to onward journey.

The service was SUPERB ! When I asked them a question about the room I wanted to booked, they immediately responded through email, hence I didn’t hesitate to make a reservation. Our room was in the second floor and the hotel didn’t have elevator. HOWEVER, they helped us carry some of our luggage. They were very kind to my 1 year old, making me feel less anxious. Traveling with a baby can be stressful but they made us feel so welcomed so thank you. Eating at the balcony was a beautiful experience. The food was exceptional and again the service was fantastic. Even though we already checked out, they lent us some umbrellas and when it rained.

This is a delightful hotel to stay in.

This is a delightful hotel to stay in. The ambiance is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the dinner in the restaurant was one of the best we have experienced and enjoyed in an hotel. Breakfast was first rate too. The newly opened spa is, together with the 12 metre outdoor pool, a 'must'! The owner is a charming and extremely helpful person.

Stunning location.

Stunning location. Chateau was spectacular but also because it was a chateau it had its downside. I would return but would definitely book a room on the ground floor as anything above this was like a sauna! The dordogne is well accustomed to temperatures in excess of 30 degrees so should have provisions in place to offset this. Beautiful food and friendly staff. Pool area and spa fantastic.

The welcome and staff were great!

The welcome and staff were great! The restaurant was really very good, we thoroughly enjoyed it! The spa area left something to be desired, and the breakfast as well. Our room was in the castle annex, which is a small house at the entrance to the grounds, poorly insulated, dreary, and dimly lit. A shame. Disappointing value for money.

There's the option of taking a hot air balloon ride...

There's the option of taking a hot air balloon ride organized by the manager, departing from the castle grounds: a real bonus! The restaurant offers excellent value for money, with the option of dining on the terrace or inside depending on the weather, and the welcome is truly warm!

The ambience of the hotel is wonderful, and staying at Chateau la Cote was memorable. Breakfasts were good, we differed over the enjoyment of the dinner. The bathroom was fine though sometimes the "hot" water was only tepid (which wasn't a big problem as the weather was hot!). It must be a challenge to operate such a place and we appreciated the staff.

The location was lovely - fabulous grounds. Building looks beautiful from outside. Pool was lovely, but no facilities e.g. umbrellas for shade, no access to cold drinks, towels etc. Dinner was excellent. The food was fabulous and service really good. The food made up for the lack of facilities in the hotel rooms..

Everything you would expect from a stay in a chateau/hotel (considering the 3* rating). The dinner was really excellent (and well above 3*) and served on/in the terrace/garden. Although a hotel it preserved its charme as a stately country-house with many traditional furnishings.
