We loved this place and will return. The village itself was beautiful and located right on the banks of the Loire. We found the most stunning rose garden tucked away in the village, which was open to visitors. The room itself was decorated to a very high standard and was very clean and comfortable. There was a pretty garden attached to the tea room downstairs, which we made use of with comfortable seating. We would have liked to stay here longer, hence our comment that we will be back! For anyone cycling the Loire a Velo it is right on the route so it's very convenient.

The room was unique with a spacious clean comfortable bathroom . Plus a towel warmer ! Breakfast very different from breakfast in South Africa - I enjoyed the real French breakfast . We did not use the restaurant . I would like to bring my family next time

The hotel/bar/resto was most accomdating as we 3 cyclists arrived. Problem: it was on a French national holiday. Most local restos were closed as was their kitchen so they kindly offered us an excellent cheese and salad evening meal. Perfect! After cycling n Km we just needed beer, bread and salad. With that we were off to their really good bedrooms and, in the morning to a good breakfast

Excellent room and comfortable beds. Delightful gardens. Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. Excellent and good value dinner at the restaurant. Lovely pool of good size and well suited for young kids.

Pure perfection! We had a ground floor room, with the perfect view of the Loire and the château. A gorgeous, cosy, but not small room with a beautiful timbered ceiling. The shower room and toilet are separate, so that's a bonus. Breakfast if served in the troglodyte breakfast room. Something that adds to the quirky charm of this hotel. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant across the road. Equally highly recommended.

This is an exceptional hotel - we stayed for a significant family birthday and they could not have made it more perfect. Beautiful rooms with period features, generous bathrooms, super-comfy beds. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the staff were generous, kind and helpful. The hotel location is great, right beside the Abbey and within easy walking distance of all the village has to offer. We will be back.

    With so many local vineyards, castles, restaurants and other...

    With so many local vineyards, castles, restaurants and other attractions anything less an 5 days and we would have felt cheated but we would have stayed longer than a week if we had time. Few places offer so much within walking distance - often off road footpaths. The local crepe restaurants were both fantastic and the restaurant at the hotel served fantastic quiches, salads and local wines. Spending time discussing the street art in the woodland was also an unexpected treat - or just relax in the swimming pool.
