We absolutely fell in love with this wonderful château! Everything – from the elegant surroundings to the magically delicious five-course dinner – exceeded our expectations. Luxurious, atmospheric, and unforgettable – like stepping straight into a romantic dream. The staff were exemplary – warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. The location is excellent. Facing a lake with swans. Reminiscent of the world of The Sound of Music. The food is good and highly recommended. All the staff are very helpful. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the rest of the hotel is so good that it makes you forget that.

    Chancelade is great for shopping, lots of retail.

    Chancelade is great for shopping, lots of retail. Its close to Perigueux which is a big city with a great old pedestrian area with good restaurants. The Indian Curry restaurant, Chez Manija, was good with terrific service. If you want spicy food you have to order Xtra spicey.

    Great location with parking at the front of the hotel. Really friendly especially with my bad French. Didn't have a bar as such but we were able to get a couple of beers. We had dinner which was three courses with a couple of choices, very tasty. Breakfast was also good with the biggest pastries I've ever seen. Good value for money. Plus the kissing swans were a nice touch.

    We wanted to have dinner at the Bistrot de la Verrière (at the hotel) and for this purpose it was a perfect solution! The complex looks charming and there is also a beautiful swimming pool.
