What an absolutely amazing place to stay. The house is enormous and incredibly well fitted out. 2 lovely large bedrooms, huge kitchen/diner and modern bathroom. The patio and garden is perfect for sitting outside day or night with the addition of a BBQ for cooking. Essoyes is a beautiful little town in the lesser visited Core de Bar region of Champagne, there's lots of independent producers to visit nearby, lovely cafe, restaurant, boulangerie etc and a supermarket a short drive away. I hope to visit again and spend some more time.

A beautiful newly renovated Gite. Loads of space, comfy beds, pillows and good linen. Two beautiful bathrooms and very well equipped kitchen with great quality appliances and all the mod-cons. An incredibly comfortable stay. Also secure gated parking. It’s a beautiful village for a stroll, there is a shop, and a tabac/cafe/bar two mins walk away.

Jerome and his family are the 7th generation to run their champagne vineyard. This small apartment is literally brand new and is located right on their property. It's got a super high fit and finish but be careful if you are tall since the bed is located in the loft and it's super tight if you are tall. We utilized the loft and the comfy couch bed and really enjoyed our stay. He gives you keys to their auto gates and parking is behind the gates. Hard to beat the price since it's smack in the middle of the champagne producers region.

My third stay at Les Tonnelles. I was delayed due to traffic around Paris and contacted the hotel to say I would arrive shortly after the restaurant closed. The staff were so kind to keep it open for me. The staff are so welcoming and kind. Everything was perfect. They waited for me to check in to my room and then come down for dinner. Highly recommended and I will no doubt be back again before long. Excellent restaurant, great wine list, very clean spacious rooms. Very courteous staff.

We really enjoyed the museum and Auguste Renoir's house.

We really enjoyed the museum and Auguste Renoir's house. Apart from that, the town was deserted. Apart from our hotel restaurant, there were no other restaurants open, and no other entertainment options. It's a shame because Essoyes is in a good location.

The entire village is dedicated to the memory of Renoir and,...

The entire village is dedicated to the memory of Renoir and, to a lesser extent, his children. A pleasant walking path connects the various points of interest. There are a few nice restaurants along the Ourse River. Unfortunately, many of the once magnificent buildings are now neglected. A renovation program would be very beneficial.

Bed was so comfy and the shower room was really nice. The kitchen was well equipped with a few thoughtful extras to help start our stay. The owner was immediately contactable, friendly and endeavoured to address the few minor issues that the newly renovated apartment had. This property would be a 10/10 when sorted. It was in an excellent location with the small, quaint town on your doorstep. Loads of character and culture in Essoyes, with the Renoir museum being the pinnacle.

The hotel needs a bit of work. It’s a shame that they have such a location but only do so little with it.. Credits to the young woman Sarah who was running the hotel almost on her own, very friendly and helpful.
