Gerardmer is in the beautiful and dense pine forest of the Vosges. It is perfect for hiking, whether it be short and easy around the lake or hard and rocky up the mountain to visit the observation tower. Water falls and isolated villages are abundant. It is on the road down to the centre of Gerardmer and although the road is steep, for mobile people it is easily walkable to the Lake (around 1.5km). The three of us fit very comfortably in the apartment which is very well kitted out. The terrace is big and we were able to enjoy our meals outside. The house is large and equipped with everything what you would require. The hosts are very friendly.
