A little Cite de charactere (city of character) with lots of historic things to see. The is (possibly) where Lancelot du Lac, of King Arthur's court came from. It's typically french and lovely for that. The restaurants are open at lunch rather than evening, some of the bars close early (8pm ish), the shops have everything, there is a weekly market and the Christmas lights are very pretty. This is not the nightlife capital but if you like hiking, cycling, camping, photography or generally exploring historical towns, then this is a good place to stop for a while.

A nice little town with lots of amenities.

A nice little town with lots of amenities. A chateau with a lake provides good walking. The town is well placed by the Normandie, Mayenne and Loire borders - great place for using as a base for exploring. Free parking in the town near to the house. Several bars and restaurants with different price ranges. Several boulangeries and small shops. Two pharmacies. A bio shop. The owner in the pizza restaurant was very friendly - spoke great English and the pizzas were great. A typical small French town in the country - locals friendly - we speak French because we live in France so were fine - but don't expect much English to be spoken in local businesses. We travelled to Bagnoles de l'Orne - a favourite for us - a town in Normandy with a health spa, lakes, lots of walks and lots of restaurants and a few shops about 14 km away. We also visited Mayenne for lunch by the river. Also, not far is Sainte Suzanne - with a superb castle and several artisan shops.

    Several good cafes.

Several good cafes. A super pizza restaurant with a great host and excellent good value food. Chateau with mediaeval gardens was a 3 minute walk away. The town has all faciilitities and would make a great base to visit other nearby towns such as Bagnoles de l'orne. Lots of restaurants in town - most have a presence on the internet.

It's a very small village with not a great selection of restaurants but you can always grab a coffee at La Brazza up on the main street. There is a little store for necessities along with a pharmacy and a good pizza place. The market on Wednesdays is handy and its a lovely location for touring around lower Normandy and Mayenne,
