We stayed in a spacious family room with a fully equipped kitchen and a garden. Loix is lovely and quiet. There is supermarket round the corner and a farmers market too (open all mornings during summer holidays) as well as a bakery. Swimming pool is great! From Loix it's easy to cycle to any other towns. There are two cycle hires in Loix.

Super comfortable beds, lovely decor, very friendly staff/owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Car parking close by which was free for our stay (late sept). Nice continental breakfast.

Everything about this little hotel was just fabulous. The best parts were how friendly and attentive the staff were, the food at the restaurant and the fact that the beach is just opposite. We also loved the terrace outside. Will definitely be back!

An extremely friendly welcome.

An extremely friendly welcome. We were escorted to our bungalow, given an orientation, and presented with a lovely welcome package. The accommodations are arranged to ensure privacy. The grounds are very well-maintained. We felt very comfortable there, and the service in the restaurant was also friendly. We would gladly return anytime; our stay of two nights was simply too short.

We appreciated the wild beauty of this part of the island...

We appreciated the wild beauty of this part of the island and the tranquility at this time of year. The bike rides are truly enjoyable and safe, and the ban on parking within the village walls makes visiting very pleasant. We felt reassured and on holiday.

It's a pretty little village on the Île de Ré; you can see...

It's a pretty little village on the Île de Ré; you can see it all quite quickly, but its inhabitants keep it vibrant. A triathlon was taking place when we arrived. Afterwards, there were several photo exhibitions.

Les Portes is a typical village on the Île de Ré.

Les Portes is a typical village on the Île de Ré. We stayed there in September, and it was very peaceful. We got around easily by bike. The beaches, salt marshes, and the Fier d'Ars are lovely. We ate at the cabin we rented. Everything was perfect, and we'll definitely come back next year.

The professionalism and welcoming nature of the staff were excellent. The setting and location are perfect. The wooded area of the campsite is lovely. The chalet was exactly as we had anticipated when booking: perfect!

A relaxing setting in a stunning environment.

A relaxing setting in a stunning environment. We rented excellent bikes and tandems in great condition and cycled through the salt marshes in glorious weather. A wonderful discovery: mussels prepared en éclade and mouclade in St Clément des Baleines... A MUST-DO!! (The cabin too!!)
