The location was lovely, at the edge of the beautiful village of Monpazier, but with private parking at the back of the hotel. The restaurant was excellent. We ate there two nights, the second night was not planned but we were accommodated at short notice which was very much appreciated by our group of four adults. All the staff were friendly particularly Isabelle. If I could nominate her for the Hotel Proprietress of the year I would. Her positive, solution oriented and friendly attitude was really appreciated. The next time we are in the Perigord area we will definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect right in the picturesque Bastide town of Monpazier with all it's medieval french charm. The bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The hosts are fantastic and the breakfast was tailored to the Gluten free dietary requirements of my wife perfectly. The host Edèll even made us a "breakfast to go" when we had to depart early to catch our flight home.

Harald & Monique were incredibly welcoming hosts. The room was comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful, you could really tell it was good quality, homemade/ local produce. The effort they have put into the property is abundantly clear and we would return in a heartbeat to share their little piece of French heaven!

Lovely peaceful location, attractive house as part of old farm buildings. Everything you would need in the kitchen. Plenty of space and some outside seating area. All rooms en-suite. Very good dinner (optional) with family and other guests. Very welcoming hosts.

    Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout.

    Beautiful historic well kept village on grid layout. Nice restaurants and small shops. Has two small supermarkets for provisions a butcher and veg shop wine and local delicacies. Market Thursday. Lovely local people. Would recommend privilege restaurant to eat offering local food to a high standard in a typically French setting. Nice walks from village for those who like walking or running. Good base for seeing the dordogne area by car. Historic market square nice to have a drink in in season. You can buy a map at the Monparzier tourist centre in the square showing walks which are marked by coloured markers. Two bakeries for daily croissants bread and lovely cakes and sandwiches. Local filling station just out of top end of villages on Road to Bergerac.

    We had a print of Monpazier from over 25 years ago and...

    We had a print of Monpazier from over 25 years ago and promised one day to visit. It's remained unchanged and was beautiful. Highly recommend having a wine or other drink in the market square and watch the world go by at a pace so much slower than here in England.

    I thought this might have been a bit too far from other...

    I thought this might have been a bit too far from other sites we wanted to visit, but it was perfect. Less touristy and much more charming. We spent a day in the village square enjoying shopping and learning about the history. Several great restaraunts( Michelin star)and cafes to choose from. So much more relaxing and enjoyable. Our favorite place and would gladly return.

    A really beautiful historic town/village, with a fantastic sense of having walked back to medieval times in the main square and two main streets. Plenty of great places to eat (Restaurant Eleanore / Privilege du perigord / Bistrot 2), and a range of high quality arts, crafts, antiques and food shops on offer. Fantastic marklet too.

    Firstly, the location is superb. Twenty steps and you're in the heart of Monpazier (literally). Easy to pull up, unload the car, and park within 50 metres at the other end of the street. Secondly, the apartment, WOW. It is so beautiful and spacious. All the modern amenities you need in a kitchen and bathroom, with the charm and character of the building. There is also good security, with a lock downstairs to the main entrance, and another lock to the apartment. We look forward to staying here again.

    Au bonheur des ruelles is situated in. a fantastic location, in a quiet street but minutes walk from everything that Monpazier has to offer. Not only were the Breakfast facilities superb and plentiful in the room, there was also complimentary croissant etc available at local patisseries. Our host was friendly and informative and really made us feel at home

    Dog friendly with a perfectly secure garden for the dog to run free in. Lovely pool to dip in and cool down. Easy walking distance to lovely Bastille village of Monpazier with plenty to see and do, with tourist shops and restaurants. Francis met us and helped sort out the Wi-Fi. Comfy beds and an outside seating area.

    Very friendly and accomodating staff and a lovely hotel with a good restaurant. Easy parking at the rear of the hotel. The situation is great, and the bastide of Monpazier is a charming little medieval town.
