Souillac is a handy stop on a long drive north or south through France as it is very close to the A20. Really exceptional place - the hosts went over and above...
Really exceptional place - the hosts went over and above what you would expect. The cycling related rooms, themes and inspired antique furniture made for an interesting and informative stay - we browsed the posters and pictures for hours. Food in the cafe was very good - with combination of locals and tourists all welcome to enjoy the social spaces. Hosts also helped with our touring around plans and information about other local sites and ammenities. Will be returning again! We ate out in the nearby town - about a 5 min walk from the house - really good quality in both restuarants and music both nights! There is a very good small restaurant along the way also. Our room had a pleasant balcony overlooking the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee machine dispensed excellent cafe au lait. The doors onto the balcony were easy to operate. The bathroom, although small, was all we required and it was clean with plenty of towels. The shower was hot and water pressure good. Parking is very nearby and it is a five minute walk to the town centre or, in the opposite direction, to the banks of the dordogne river.
