Nadine our host lovely lady the owner or the chalet takes pride in cleanliness and very well equipped including games for all generations. The swimming pool is a big plus especially being heated and partially covered, there is crazy golf,table tennis and a boules pitch .A perfect place to relax and enjoy scenery.

Not my first time and it's always a lovely place to stay. Sally and Andy are always very welcoming. You can not ask for any more equipment in the kitchen. The lounge is very comfortable. The bedrooms are always lovely and clean and the bed is very comfortable. Close to local facilities and I will definitely be back again.

Vire is surprisingly beautiful little town. It is rather busy for 17.5k population. Lovely walks, Theatre, water centre. Very happy me. I mean if you get it on your way - it will surprise you in a good way. For dinner 100% go to Hotel de France - you get a high end experience for the local prices and nice quite atmosphere.

Vire is a town that goes about its business and does not...

Vire is a town that goes about its business and does not really see itself as a tourist hub. They do have a friendly tourist office but there is not a lot they can promote. We walked round the town and admired the floral decorations and the bits of the old walls that still exist. The museum was shut. There are several good restaurants and in the vicinity there are some lovely small towns and the Lac de la Dathée which is a 6.1km walk round which we enjoyed. We drove to Chateau de Pontécoulant which was advertised as being open but when we arrived at 11 am there was a notice saying the next tour was 14:30 and so we walked in the grounds, most of which were fenced off!

Reservations for dinner during the weekend were absolutely necessary if you wanted to eat in the city center. The walking tour through the city, using the tourist office brochure, wasn't always clear (no street names). The cider festival looked fun, but unfortunately, in the pouring rain, there wasn't much interest.

The house was especially lovely, and it was great that Vire was so close for the bakery and groceries. From Vire, we could reach Mont St. Michel and Caen in an hour, and there are lovely walks around the reservoir.

A small, welcoming town where you'll find everything you need. We recommend the Hôtel de France/restaurant. Exquisite local produce. Classy and efficient service. The clock tower, the castle, the museum, Notre Dame church, the Vire gorges, the Souleuvre viaduct, and activities (bungee jumping, giant zip line, tobogganing, SKYPARC).

The town of Vire isn't the best, but it's very central for...

The town of Vire isn't the best, but it's very central for organizing visits to a large part of the Manche and Calvados departments, and even the Orne. It has a good local specialty (tripe, andouille sausage), a very nice market on Friday mornings, and a great tourist office.

This was a last minute choice as a base to work on my own nearby property… and it was ideal, couldn’t have picked better. Helpful friendly owner. Lovely log burner and plentiful supply of wood & kindling. Everything we needed in kitchen… Big bedrooms, good showers. location close to main roads… only 10-15min from Vire and it’s restaurants, supermarkets etc

We didn't include breakfast in the booking, but the location was great and Vire is a great place to use as a base to explore Normandy. Catherine and Pierrick were very welcoming and great hosts, considering we were the first guest's they had that turned up on motorcycles .We would definitely go back to them again .

The communication was great. The owner messaged and gave clear instructions where we were staying (annex hotel) and where the key was ahead of time. Breakfast was offered in advance too. Beds were comfortable and it was clean. The bathroom was huge and very accessible with hand rails. Decor looked fresh and clean.
