Almondsbury Village is an attractive village with a pub and community shop. The Swan Hotel up the hill, on the by pass road (A38), does good meals. There is a lay by to see the views over the Severn estuary and both bridges from the top of the hill leading down to the village. If you are staying in the hotels on the bypass it's a challenging walk both to cross the dual carriageway and walk up and down the steep hill down to the village.Guest review byPhillips - 4.0

Bedrooms not to standards for price paid, many faults. Restaurant too expensive and limited menu. My 1st week stay was only made better by upgrading from a tiny room to deluxe, which was appreciated. Bathrooms cannot have tiled floors due to possible slipping, must change to safety flooring. My 2nd week, the bedroom had no heating and was given a small noisy heater, even the bathroom radiator was not wired up to mains, not good for £385.00.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Rooms are clean, restaurant had plenty of tables. Parking available. Rooms are on the small saide an it wasn't cleaned during our stay. Breakfast ran out of food on one morning, No food available later in the evenings. Dreadful link to the local taxi service.
Dreadful link to the local taxi service. The one booked never showed up so I had to drive to central Bristol and pick my car up in the morning. Ruined the timing for the following day. No matter that the hotel does not control the taxi service, they MUST get a reliable link. Cannot afford to risk the same thing again so am forced to go elsewhere. Pity.Guest review byDavid - 10
The small village is a great place to stay.
The small village is a great place to stay. There’s a real community vibe to the village. A community shop staffed by volunteers provides a decently priced and wide array of products. The church is lovely. On a couple of occasions I needed information and locals went to great lengths to assist me. The bell ringing practice on Monday night was unexpected, but that shows the level of community involvement. The only thing that I would say to improve it would be better lighting in the room as it isn't bright enough to read a book. A spare blanket would have been appreciated as well. I didn't see the plug in heater until the morning because the lighting is so dim. Other than that I highly recommend it. The breakfast and coffee were good. The bathroom was very nice and modern, big mirrors and spacious showed. The mirror doesn’t get foggy even after you had a shower. Also we stayed in the downstairs rooms which are the best ones to stay in this particular hotel.
