Very clean, unusual and perfect multi-bed family accommodation (we had the large room for 6!), very reasonably priced, friendly and helpful staff and manager Tina, parking, not on the busy road yet only 6 minute walk from Bournemouth International Center and 4 minutes to the top of the zig zag down to the beach. My kids were trying to write a “Tregonholme” song on the way home! A classic and exceptional inexpensive holiday stay.

Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.

Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

    Great for the beach, night life, plenty of shopping and places to eat at reasonable prices for Bournemouth. Most the hotels are best booked in advance and after/before summer season. Could do with having more toilets as only one or two places with one being unaccessible for disabled like me.

    Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Food at the hotel was great. Sea view was perfect. Bathroom floor was damaged and covered with tape and the shower was slow. Sometimes bed wasn’t made which was part of room service. Hotel in a good location to access buses.

    Thought shopping area looked a bit tried. Car parking expensive. Beaches lovely and clean. Poole was a lovely place with a lovely harbour would look to stay there. Would try a different time of year.

    The Chines are an interesting walk.

    The Chines are an interesting walk. Bournemouth has a nice vibrant atmosphere but the shops are sadly not that good anymore - much better when I lived in Dorset 35 years ago. Poole has a far better shopping centre.

    Bournemouth town has lots of eating places. Clothes shopping ok. I stayed near Westbourne with good restaurants and shops. The beach down from Westbourne has some trendy bars where we enjoyed a drink in the evening watching the sea and the sun go down - perfect!

    Absolutely beautiful, easy access along the beach for morning walks. Travel early to avoid traffic delays. Ramsden Fish and chips to die for. Walk on the pier a must. If you're young or young at heart get into the night scene.

    The signature room had a fantastic sea view, which exceeded our expectations. The room was very spacious and it was great that there were two TVs and a mini fridge. The breakfast included in the price was also great value for money and was delicious. Fantastic hotel location in the centre of town by the sea. There is also a car park right next to the hotel with parking for 24 hours for only £7.50 which is very cheap compared to the other car parks in Bournemouth or anywhere else for 24 hours.

    Location on the east cliff was very convenient for getting to the beach, pier and town centre, as well as Bascome Bay if you wanted to the indoor poor and sauna was a plus on the less than sunny days. We had a large room on the 4th that was well equipment with all one would need. The tv could do with an upgrade. The free WiFi has good signal across the hotel. It’s no 5* but definitely more than you need for a few days in Bournemouth at a cost effective price

    this boutique hotel near to Bournemouth beach was very personal. a warm welcome and staff couldn’t do enough for you. my husband is coeliac and was catered for really well. have stayed in many hotels in the area this is by far amongst the top. decor is lovely and only 5 mins by car to seafront and theatres

    The Hotel is sited in one of the best locations for Bournemouth. It's just a short walk to the beach (and away from the crowded parts); as well as this it's not too far to walk to the town centre. The En-suite room was good, and the staff friendly. As well as this it's good value for money!
