Staff were exceptional, from housekeeping, waiting staff, receptionists and management Nothing is too much trouble They're ALL helpful, friendly, efficient and a great Team The room was well set out, comfortable and clean Location was really good for accessing bus routes to Matlock Bath, Sheffield town centre and Meadow hall, to name but a few Lovely scrambled eggs and fresh melons and pineapple plentiful at breakfast as was decaffeinated tea & coffee and oat milk which were also supplied on request in the room

The hotel was immaculate, and we loved the added touches of the hot chocolate in out room as well as the tea and coffee machine .our room over looked the beautiful lake .The breakfast the following morning was very nice indeed.

Wow, the hotel is very inviting, great staff, easy check in and out, no waiting around, comfy beds, clean room, tea bags and biscuits left every morning after room clean and large room. This place is perfect and lovely food at a reasonable prices.

    Gateway to the peak district and all that, yes, but...

    Gateway to the peak district and all that, yes, but Chesterfield has a lot to offer in its own right. Ive been before, I was here for work this time but I had time to root around. Come on a thursday when the flea market is on and make a long weekend of it. Look out for the fantastic Record Fairs, and two of the best independent record shops you could hope for. There are some great old pubs and The Spreadeagle is an excellent place to stay and eat. Do your homework, but turn up on spec and explore. You'll enjoy it. And there's Chatsworth up the road if that floats your boat.

    We spent a week at the Spread Eagle with the intention of it being our anchor for the Peak District. I would do it all over again, hands down. Chesterfield itself was a nice enough town but it wasn’t our focus so didn’t really think much about it. The traffic in downtown Chesterfield is a bit confusing, but I’m from the States, so not surprising. We ate almost every meal at the Spread Eagle.

    Lovely Park with walks, cafe, playground and a great little...

    Lovely Park with walks, cafe, playground and a great little train for the Kids and the Young at Heart. Nice little town with national retail and independant shops. St Mary's Church is nice to visit too. There are two Wetherspoons and several Costa's/Caffè Nero's plus independently owned eating places too. The Thursday Market is super, with some great bargains.

    This hotel is perfect if you want amazing food in a lovely...

    This hotel is perfect if you want amazing food in a lovely location. It is quite central to a lot of walking trails, also some amazing walks from the hotel. We ate at the hotel a couple of nights and in Chesterfield at an amazing Tapas restaurant The Bottle and Thyme, definitely worth a visit.

    Unfortunately we didn't see much of the town apart from a visit to Morrisons for basics/fuel and a visit to a take away Chinese that only took cash. We only saw any of the place by driving in and out of the town to the property we stayed overnight at, so I could not give an adequate impression of the place.

    All the Staff from arrival to departure where amazing extremely positive welcoming and obliging. The Hotel is located next to a major road ,this only added to the convenient accessible location and did not cause any noise disturbance the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with an easy to use air conditioning system . The food and drink menu choice and availability was excellent , room service was used which arrived promptly and with courtesy at a late hour. A massive Thank you to all at Casa Hotel

    Lovely place. lovely people. Our room was spotlessly clean, well decorated and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable and had tea, coffee and bottled water. Really good spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Water took a little while to heat up but when it did it was nice an hot. Continental breakfast was very good - plenty of toast, crumpets, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, fruit, cake, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Better than many hotels we have stayed in, and quite a lot cheaper too.

    Lovely big room above an excellent restaurant, in which we had a nice meal. Right in the centre of Chesterfield but quite quiet. Made very welcome by a young man who answered all our queries, even in the morning when we couldn't operate the shower. Help yourself breakfast just outside the room worked very well.

    The portland hotel and staff are fantastic . Booking .com are rubbish we waited in reception for 1.5 hours because booking .com had a problem with their virtual credit card absolutely horrendous booking .com where rude and unhelpful and offered no compensation
