I was looking for acccommodation in the area to visit friends and chose Croyde Bay hotel as it was offering a very reasonable rate and consequently was expecting something very basic. . How wrong I was, it was such a lovely surprise and personally I could not fault anything about my stay. We have visited this beautiful village regularly over the past 35 years or so. There are gorgeous pubs including The Thatch, Billy Budds and The Manor, all of which serve food, lovely beaches and super friendly locals. There are also plenty of places to stay. A few options are Croyde Bay Holiday Resort, Ruda Holiday Park, The Thatch (the breakfast here is outstanding!) and lovely little B&B's around the village. Croyde is a beautiful village just a few minutes walk from a stunning surf beach, with cosy and friendly pubs. Everyone walks around with a smile on their face, and is clearly just happy to be there. The position of the house. Facilities were good and everyone had a lovely time as we were lucky with the weather. Croyde is a great place to stay, but I want it to be a secret, so there aren't too many people! I love the market and the essential shops and restaurants are good. The views are amazing and the house is nice, everything...
The views are amazing and the house is nice, everything worked apart from the outside lights, which was quite dangerous at night as there are lots of steps. The pictures make the house look a lot bigger that it is and with 8 adults sharing, a third bathroom would improve things. The parking situation is awful, despite there being plenty of room for at least 8 cars, you are only allowed to use 2 spaces halfway down the drive. The only overnight car park is 25 minutes walk away in Croyde which costs £15 per night. Do not break these rules as the community will report you to the letting agents as you are in full view of everyone driving in and out of Croyde. We were reported twice during our stay and it makes you feel like you are being watched! Furthermore, if you park any type of van (we were travelling around and stopped off), ‘the community’ assume extra people are sleeping in them and report you!!! Therefore, I would not return due to the parking situation and the fact that you feel under scrutiny.Guest review bySpitzhUnited Kingdom
