The Wynnstay was a 1 night stopover and we wished we’d had a few nights to stay. There are so many nooks and crannies inside we would have loved to sit in all the different areas. The staff member Rhian was so friendly and helpful and gave us some great tips for our forward journey. We also met a couple at the bar to chat to. Highly recommend a few nights here. Jo and Jacko

Lovely cozy cottage, full of character. Perfect location for those wishing to visit Ynyshir restaurant which is a 10 minute walk away. Wish we’d booked an extra night. Will definitely return.

Great hosts, Cottage is located in a quiet small valley far away. Perfect for a longer stay, we sadly only had one night. No cell service, but fast internet with Netflix available. Lots of movie memorabilia as decoration.

The property is set in idyllic settings with a lovely river running along side. The host Dave was amazing. The property was clean tidy and even some basics provided for the kitchen. It was perfect for our getaway and would recommend to anyone. We will definitely be back.

    Derwenlas is a small village on the main road between...

    Derwenlas is a small village on the main road between Machylleth and Aberystwyth. It is a half hour drive to the coast and even less to start exploring the mountains and beautiful countryside around it. Less than five minutes away is the wonderful Dyfi Wildlife Centre where all summer long you can see wild ospreys on their nearby nest, amongst other things - it is well worth a visit.

    It was a great place to explore the area.

    It was a great place to explore the area. Next time we will go on the Cambrian Railway. We ate at No 21 in Machynlleth which was very good. We enjoyed our visit to Ynys Hir RSPB site and to the Osprey centre (none there in winter). We had some beautiful drives up the valleys and would love to spend more time walking them. Artist's Valley was stunning and so were the various roads to Glaspwll. Our favourite mountain is Cader Idris so next time we come I hope my husband will manage to walk up it.
