Edinburgh has lots of good bookshops and also yarn and fabric shops. Most of the museums are free and a useful resource if you need the toilet. The architecture is beautiful and there are stunning views from the castle and hills. Some of the art galleries are free. Excellent bus and tram links in the City.We are keen walkers and enjoyed getting round on foot, there is plenty to see. We found people open and friendly. From Edinburgh you can get to a multitude of other places,either by Bus or Train,or by taking one of the many tours on offer.
