Rachel was so welcoming. Her communication before arriving was fast and good, and she came out with us to the room to show us everything. When we asked about dinner options in the area we got an elaborate explanation of all the options. The location is absolutely beautiful, directly next to the sea. The room itself is compact but complete. The bed was comfortable, and everything was complete and clean. We definitely hope to come back!

Fantastic experience. The property is run by a lovely couple. There is parking directly in front of the entrance. The room, like the rest of the property, is very well furnished and very clean. The bathroom is fantastic and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is prepared and served directly by the owners and is available in both continental and Scottish versions: delicious! I would also like to highlight the kindness of the owners who also gave us tickets to the annual Ardersier gala. Without a doubt the best overnight experience we have had in Scotland. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful part of Scotland!

What a beautiful part of Scotland! It was both relaxing and peaceful. There were different things you could do and fantastic places to eat and grab a drink. The dolphin watching was also very fun and different. Crofter’s was one of our favorite food places. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful.

Lovely little village with beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes, bakeries, butcher etc. Close to neighbouring village of Rosemarkie and beautiful beach and walks. Looks across Moray Firth to Ardersier and Fort George.

Not the best Closures due to Covid

Not the best Closures due to Covid Main road noisy and polluted Restaurant noisy opposite Fortress Harbour nice and around Cathedral but otherwise not the best Too far to walk to Canonry Point but by car you face parking charges Not our first visit but last in Fortrose Post Office sells lovely gifts

Fortrose is a beautiful village with historic buildings and the main attraction is the opportunity to spot dolphins at Chanonry Point. There are pubs and restaurants as well as the beach at Rosemarkie within walking distance of the village.

We loved the location and the house was maintained to a high standard. The hosts were very gracious making sure we had a lovely time. There is a lovely bakery in the town just 5 mins drive away. We also got to see the dolphins do their dance from the famous view point also very close. For commute I will recommend to use the Church street via Fortrose town instead of taking the Knockmuir.

The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated looking out on the beautiful garden. The hosts Guthrie and Horst were very helpful,friendly and interesting to talk to. Close to the golf club for great meals and a gorgeous beach walk to the dolphins at Chanonry Point. Fortrose has a couple of delicious bakeries. Just a wonderful experience overall.

There was a perfect house for my family of 5 people including my little girl, we’ve experienced two wonderful nights staying at Fortrose. The house located very close to the Chanonry Point. It’s very tidy and clean inside, and you almost can find anything you need here. I highly recommend staying here if you intend to pass this area!

This is such a beautiful cottage and it had absolutely everything we needed. Fortrose is just lovely! We were staying for the Cromarty Regatta and this location was perfect. The cottage is just gorgeous and the garden is just lovely to sit and have a morning coffee. Had a brilliant stay. Cannot recommend enough.
