Fairly near to family who we were visiting. Near to a barbers we made use of and a large supermarket handy for anything I forgot to bring with me. It was lovely to stay in an English pub with Hawkstone beer to try though we preferred the special bitter. Lively menu which we felt would cover all tastes. Night one we had been out at lunchtime so just had the fish platter to share , second night we both had the steak perfectly cooked to our liking. Didn’t have dessert though they looked good when served to an adjacent table !

Staff were polite and helpful, rooms were practical. Absolute beautiful setting and the hotel restaurant has excellent view of the front lawn. The food at the restaurant was great too and there are bubble houses by the lawn available for dinner time. Loads of parking spaces.

We had a problem with the tv signal in the room, spoke to the lovely receptionist who has blue hair (so you know who we are talking about) and had it sorted straight away. Couldn't have asked for better service.

    This was my 4th trip to Gloucester so I have seen many of the sights before. The Cathedral is the main site to see. The cloisters have the most beautiful fan-vaulting stone work that I have ever seen in a Cathedral. Harry Potter fans will enjoy them as some scenes from the films were shot there. There are several quite old pubs in Gloucester which are well worth visiting plus it was a Roman town so there are some Roman ruins dotted about.

    Gloucester itself (especially Gloucester Quays area) is very nice. Historic and interesting with lots of great eatery options (highly recommend Greek on the Docks or Hetty’s Place). Lots of parking, mostly pay parking.

    Beautiful countryside.

    Beautiful countryside. Tewksbury is a lovely historic town well worth a visit. Gloucester also a beautiful city. Slimbridge Wildlife Centre close enough for a lovely day out. Plenty more to visit including the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds.

    Gloucester has an amazing cathedral and a nice shopping area called the Quays, the city itself is unbelievable shabby and I would think an embarrassment to the council but Gloucester is a good base to visit the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean

    The few days we had there was brilliant especially visiting the Cotswolds and Bourton on the Water, amazing place. I think you need a car to get around all the beautiful places too visit. We even drove to Weston Super Mare for the day. What an amazing beach they have. Everywhere was so clean. Pity we couldn’t stay longer.

    Grim - town centre is tired, dirty and run-down.

    Grim - town centre is tired, dirty and run-down. Looked like the Primark had been ram-raided. Marina area ok, restaurants are expensive and the staff in three of them were indifferent at best. Cathedral is impressive but was locked so I didn't get in.

    The hotel was lovely. A little disappointed that a full English breakfast was not included in our stay though, this was changed at £5 extra per person per day. The spa facilities were nice and we had a lovely time. The hotel was situated near to Gloucester and Cheltenham and we had a nice time exploring both cities. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful.

    Perfect location. Just outside Gloucester Central town. Walking distance to the town. Hosts were lovely. Very proud of their location and Gloucester. My room was full of caricature.     The location is good for visiting Gloucester. The spa and pool area looked nice, although we did not use these facilities. Breakfast was decent, the usual hotel buffet - nothing stand out but pleasant enough. The complementary lemon water station in reception is a nice touch.
