We had the castle behind us and the harbour in front of us...
We had the castle behind us and the harbour in front of us which we were able to see from our room. The castle was worth a visit and the harbour and sea coming in and out was pleasant to view with a glass in your hand. Easy access to all over the island,we like history so were able to see the war tunnels and museum. Gorey has history, a fabulous ,imposing ,interesting castle Mount Orgueil, beautiful harbour and beaches and great places to eat - Cafe Louise is a must place to eat when you get there. A very small port right under the castle, several cafes, restaurants and small hotels and not a great deal else, but frequent and affordable buses will get you all over the island. On the east side of Jersey Gorey is very picturesque with great views of the castle and harbour. There are shops a short walk away in the village and a fish n chip shop. Pizza Quarter in Gorey is a particularly good place to eat. We did walk from St Helier but the buses are regular and convenient and not expensive, especially if you get a day pass. We particularly enjoyed : the Zoo, Elizabeth Castle, Corbiere lighthouse, the War Tunnels and the Jersey Museum was a good place to start. St Brelade's Bay has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in existence. If it rains there is also a cinema in St Helier. We didn't visit Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey this time but it looks very good for younger children.Guest review byRachelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Great location. Excellent footpaths for walking. Mint Irgueil castle only minutes away by walking. Few hotel bars and restaurants. Frequent, regular and reliable bus service to St.Helier about half an hour in duration. Good idea to buy a bus ticket pass that covers one for duration of stay as you can use any liberty bus(island’s public bus service) to go anywhere in the island from St.Helier.Guest review byAsangaedemAustralia

The rooms are quiet and comfortable though the "extras" are a little limited. Jersey is a beautiful island with lots to see and it's very easy to get around and get to. Bus stop immediately opposite. Quieter than St Helier/St Aubin and picturesque. Staff really good. Food good and generous. Room and shower room clean but no view (light well).
