The waterside bistro is a short walk through St Mary's churchyard, which is opposite the hotel, food was delicious, there is a lovely walk along the riverside, and also another pub The Tyneside Tavern which has a great italian style restaurant. Arriving after the shops had closed didn't present a very favourable first impression of the town but a whole host of coffee shops and small businesses opened up the next day. Haddington too was a disappointment.
Haddington too was a disappointment. A walk round the high street took less than a couple of hours. There were very few places to eat and after eating in the hotel on our first night (very restricted menu) and travelled to Gifford for dinner on the second evening.
