Lovely village pub with chatty locals, friendly owner and team, delicious dinner and breakfast, comfy bed in a very clean, well appointed room (and bathroom with good shower), coffee pod machine, parking on site - what more could you want?! 10/10 from us Aussies in our 60s. Thank you :)

A wonderful country pub with cosy accomodation, welcoming staff, and a tasty breakfast. My immaculate room looked freshly renovated and had everything required for a very comfortable stay. The Red Lion Madley is also well-located for day trips into Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, and Abergavenny. A huge thanks again to the team for a lovely weekend stay!

Stayed here with mum and sister whilst walking Offas Dyke, and it was absolutely perfect. Bit of a walk off the trail however it was the closest option! Sheila and her partner were incredible hosts, so accommodating and thoughtful. They have a fridge next to the rooms for fresh milk and water. The evening meal was exceptional - better than your standard pub fare and the breakfast menu was really good. The room was very comfortable and they upgraded us to have more space. Loved it!

Fantastic heritage property with large rooms that are tastefully decorated. The bathroom is separate to the bedroom and has a large bathtub. The locals drink at the hotel and are really friendly. Plenty of parking .

Well appointed apartment, everything required for a stay in Hereford. Nice bottle of welcome wine. Matt was an excellent host, when we had a little issue, he quickly drove by and fixed it. A pub a few doors down, and only a short walk into town.

    The cathedral is amazing!

    The cathedral is amazing! There are so many streets with wonderful shops and no cars allowed! My favourite being the walk to the cathedral with the bunting and the gallery shop at the end with wonderful craft pieces to buy. The cider museum is great too!

    I spent a weekend in Hereford and really enjoyed the experience. The town is lovely, with great options for food and plenty of natural surroundings to explore. I especially appreciated the local eateries and the chance to enjoy the nearby countryside. It was a relaxing and refreshing weekend getaway.

    I was there to visit family so I didn’t spend a lot of time...

    I was there to visit family so I didn’t spend a lot of time exploring Hereford as I have visited before. However I like Hereford as it has a lot to investigate especially the Mappa Mundi and the Cathedral. There is a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. We had a curry on the first night a family meal in the Cosy Club and on our last night we had fish and chips from a Chippie just round the corner from where we were staying. It was very good with fish freshly cooked.

    Lovely old buildings and fantastic cathedral. Had a great meal in a Thai restaurant. For a bank holiday , Hereford was surprisingly quiet. The Black Lion and The Orange Tree pubs are places to return to. Hereford centre itself was not very clean and tidy. I was quite surprised and disappointed

    Visiting family but enjoyed all Hereford has to offer, culture, history, beautiful scenery, interesting locations. River walks, Cathedral & most of all - the chilled friendly atmosphere. Great local pub Secret Garden, very hospitable & good food. Great Indian takeaway. Good choice of restaurants/cafes.

    I spent a lot of time in the Cathedral.

    I spent a lot of time in the Cathedral. I took guided walking tours round city and cathedral, and wandered round the city alone. It is small, but full of character, with little side streets and historically interesting buildings. Why have I not been before?

    The location for Hereford City centre is excellent. The staff are very freindly as always. that is why I come here a couple of times each year. Value for money is second to none. I paid £70 per night for B&B. Breakfast is very good, always got what I asked for. The room was a single on-suite room which was very clean and comfortable. Ample parking in front of the hotel. I will continue to come here in the future.

    First, a thanks to staff who cooked a most fantastic breakfast and were lovely to chat to and very helpful with directions. Although the hotel is a basic one, everything was as advertised and spotless. It was, as advertised, very close to the cathedral and perfect for shops, pubs etc. I can definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay in Hereford.

    Lovely period house, in a quiet location off the main road. Plenty of parking. Large king-size bed with quality bedding. Lovely hot shower. Large Fluffy towels. Everything spotless. Easy check in with a friendly greeting and excellent breakfast. A short walk into Hereford Town centre. Would definitely stay again.

    Beautiful house in perfect location for Hereford town centre. We stayed as a family while celebrating my wedding at The Shack Revolution. We loved the garden and the huge bedrooms and having such a large kitchen and two sittings rooms was great for a household of five guests. Would definitely stay again.
