Hernhill is a small village positioned very near the main dual carriageway but still maintaining its rural feel. The roads are very narrow and a bit challenging. It has an excellent pub, the Red Lion, and is very close to a local attraction, Mount Ephraim Gardens. A lovely village with great pubs to have dinner in (we had an excellent dinner at the Red Lion) or stop just for a drink if you are exploring the beautiful surrounding country side cycling or walking. Don't miss a visit to Mount Ephraim Gardens (You could stay in one of their beautiful rooms and enjoy a lovely breakfast after a truly peaceful night's sleep). If you feel like hiding from everything go hiking in ancient Blean Forest, that takes you right back into medieval times and fairy tale territory. Or else just walk along the many orchards and snack on fallen apples and pears that are aplenty in autumn.
