We were very delighted to get a last minute booking for a room over the weekend of a festival in the village. We knew that the attic room had a private bathroom rather than an en suite so although this was not quite so convenient it was exactly as we expected and we loved that this old inn is providing quirky accommodation that is not just like a standard chain hotel. Although the attic room had sloping ceilings it was actually bigger in floor area than we expected. The staff in the hotel were absolutely wonderful from the welcome when we arrived to leaving after our two night stay. We ate in the hotel both nights, joined by friends who were not staying in the hotel. The food was delicious and well cooked. Breakfasts were also excellent and cooked to order. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

The place was very clean and spacious. It easily fit the 5 of us and an extra kid or two would still find a place to sleep. Two bathrooms and a VERY spacious kitchen/dining/living area. A big patio outside with tables and chairs - the weather was great, so we had our morning coffee outside. You park your car right outside the patio on a designated parking spot - great for hauling your luggage :) Located in a holiday center with its own golf course. Very quiet area, with places to go for a walk, a playground for kids to enjoy and a tavern, which unfortunately we didn't have time to visit. There is a Tassimo coffee machine with a choice of coffee pods. There was milk in the fridge and a loaf of bread with complimentary butter and jams - a very nice welcome pack, especially since we forgot to visit a store on the way. I can definitely reccomend this place - for families and golfers alike.

A beautiful town full of character and places to enjoy food...

A beautiful town full of character and places to enjoy food and drink in friendly surroundings. We ate at Bella Italia, (our hosts said it was a great place to eat, and they were right). Great Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. There are many small shops to explore for gifts for others, or indeed one's self...some of the locally made jewellery is truly beautiful. The pubs are welcoming, and full of choice regarding beers, gins and other tipples. Do yourself a favour and visit, you can thank me later.

Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history. It is spotlessly clean - the local people were all very friendly. Two must visits are Mary Queen of Scots home and Jedburgh Castle Jail. We are in Belters Bar - the food was beautiful. The Jedburgh Baguette Co was perfect for lunch - so tasty.

A lovely quiet place, with interesting shops and good restaurants. Very well kept with lots of flower arrangements; everyone was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed going round Jedburgh Abbey and Queen Mary's house and garden.

Lots of independent shops, lots of historical sites of significance (Jedburgh Abbey, Jedburgh Jail, Mary Queen of Scots Visitor centre) and good places to eat/ drink. Lots of other things to do and see around the Boarders also.

A small town with a few attraction around the local area. Unfortrunatley the local pubs were pritty awful dark and dirty and some were unwelcomming. Non served food after 7pm or 8pm. I must recommend two the following: The Italian resturant in the town serves excellent food and service brillient. If you like Highland cattle you must visit Jackson farm who do an excellent highland cow experience, were you can get up close to the highland cattle and some baby calfs. The Abbey ruines Overall nice to visit

The location near Jedburgh was perfect for my touring needs. The old coaching house is much bigger than I expected with a large restaurant and outside seating area. The Nepalese staff are brilliant and the food in the evening showcases their cuisine. I had the lamb curry which was marvellous. My room was the double attic room with detached bathroom, so quirky slopping ceilings form part of its historical character. If you want squares and en-suite book a Premier Inn. The bed was to their standard too. Very clean and tidy throughout.

Our host Alec was very welcoming when we arrived and helpful with the parking , the room was clean and tidy with a lovely big and comfortable bed and two chairs to sit in as well which is always nice so you don’t have to sit on the bed , I was asked about what I would like for breakfast as I’m vegetarian and this was catered for very well. The girl who served us breakfast was friendly and attentive even though she was very busy , all in all we enjoyed our stay at the royal hotel and would stay there again .
