Johnstone or Paisley are perfect for train travellers...
Johnstone or Paisley are perfect for train travellers wanting to explore Scotland. Direct Routes to the Ayr, Ardrossan, Largs which get you over to the islands on the west coast and Balloch for Loch Lomond. 15mins from Glasgow by train. Great Cycling routes to Lochwinnoch passing Kenmure Temple. Other places by car I'd really recommend a visit to: Culzean Castle, Hill House, Willow Tea Rooms Tour, Dumbarton Castle, Mugdock Park, Portencross Castle, Conic Hill, Ben A'an, Paisley Abbey, Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis. Breakfast option was either full Scottish diy or "continental" (cereal, fruit, pancakes, croissant, no cheese or ham). Staff was very nice around the hotel and restaurant.
