Have been to Keswick many times in the past (usually staying outside of Keswick itself). This was the first trip staying in the town centre. Lovely buzzing atmosphere in the summer, lots of tourists in the main streets but where we stayed was quiet and only 15 minutes walk into the town itself. Plenty of pubs and places to eat. I actually love looking in all the shops - loads of outdoor retailers selling everything for walkers, hikers etc. Spent a fair bit of money in the shops! Well worth it. We were also lucky to visit the theatre and see a magnificent production of Pride and Prejudice. Honestly? it was the best theatre production I have ever seen - amazing! Lovely village, a little tight on time.

We are no longer able to do the hiking that we used to love, but Keswick is a great location to enjoy the beauty of the lakes in a gentler way. My husband and I have visited all over the Lake District, but keep going back to Keswick, there’s something about it, it’s peaceful as well as busy, great shops. It was not advertised as being en-suite but did have its own private bathroom across the hall. Breakfast was amazing, with a range of options - Fruit salad to start followed by a full English seemed the most popular choice and the quality of both was high. Hotel is also great for parking, they have a decent sized car park at thr back with spacious parking spots..altho we managed to park at the front!
