There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business...
There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business premises in Kyleakin. Its a sprawling sort of place, maybe we hit it at a bad time. I would not have been too keen to stay there but for our cottage which was fabulous and if we had been staying longer it would have been a lovely house to base oneself in for trips to the rest of the island.Guest review byMaryIreland - 10.0

We come to Skye at least once a year as we have friends there. It was our first stay in Kyleakin and we found it to be very pleasant and quiet and also very handy to be so very near to Kyle, just over the bridge, in case you have forgotten something you need to buy. Location good and convenient for our needs.
Location good and convenient for our needs. It is an old hotel, decorated to a fairly high standard. As it was built a long time ago and had wooden floora you could hear peole walking around from above and in the hall outside. we arrived around 3pm on the Thursday, there was a note on...
we arrived around 3pm on the Thursday, there was a note on the door to tell you where to go to pick up keys and that check in wasn't until 4pm. We went to see if there was a chance of checking in early but there was no one there. we went to see if the attatched bar/restaurant was open to get a drink but that didn't open until 4.30pm, we went to another nearby bar where we had a couple of drinks and a lovely chat with the barman. We went back again around 4.10pm and there was still no one there we were about to go out again when a lady appeared, she gave us our room key and slips for breakfast, we went tour room which was in the eaves of the house room was very small and cramped the tea and coffe tray was on a chair below the hangers for your clothes/coats which wasn't ideal. The weather was terrible very high winds and very very wet but that didn't stop us from doing some sight seeing the only thing that the guest house needs a lick of paint inside and outside that would make the building more attractive everything else was fine for us and destination from Bridge to guest house sat nav said second exit but it was the first we would go back again thanks for having us Mr.+ Mrs.whitehouseGuest review byGordon - 4.0
The location was just for a stop over on our way to Falkirk.
The location was just for a stop over on our way to Falkirk. The bed had seen better days as the springs had gone and were very uncomfortable and noisy with little movement. The floorboards also were very noisy from upstairs and when moving around the room.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom

Hotel is just over the bridge and has a car park with many bedrooms facing onto this. Which ours did. Check in instructions were sent to us prior to arrival and we had no problem gaining access to the room. The hotel was very quiet and the added touch of cereal, yoghurt set in fridge was most welcome. Room was very clean and appeared to have been recently re decorated. It was warm, quiet and speckless. We had everything we needed to make a quick breakfast and coffee/tea for our mornings and good restaurants nearby for the evenings.
