We were using Lauder as base for visiting Edinburgh.
We were using Lauder as base for visiting Edinburgh. Just spent one afternoon exploring the town. Enjoyed sandwich and tea at a Deli and walked around castle grounds . Train into Edinburgh from Stow worked well. Also drove to Dunbar for the day.Guest review bySianUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Butcher, baker, deli, post office and cafes in Lauder. Very close to all visitor attractions - this time, we visited National Museum of Mining , Trimontium Museum and Abbotsford. Lauder is a great village with everything you need.
Lauder is a great village with everything you need. Spotty Dog for coffee and a Scotch egg, Flat Cat Gallery for gift shopping and cake. There is a butchers, post office, pharmacy and co-op. Excellent accommodation within a beautiful building of great historical significance and set in magnificent countryside. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the castle tour.
