The hut is very cute. It has a board game, the vinyl record player, staff for painting, coffee machine, fire space for marshmallow night, etc. We can stay there and never get bored. We love this place so much.

We were greeted by the host Maryl on arrival. She had a big smile on her face she made us feel very welcome.I was stunned by the beauty of the cottage and the surroundings,it is out of the world beautiful.I felt very overwhelmed and truly amazed. The fire was lit and was so cozy and warm. The whole cottage has a very cozy feeling ,high quality and sustainable. The beds, the duvets and blankets, all furniture is very comfortable. There are little touches here and there ,which just put a smile on your face .I was truly impressed of how thoughtful the hosts and how they created the whole space just to enhance the experience. It’s spotless as well.I am impressed of how they can maintain such a level of cleanliness in such a rural location. The cottage is in the middle of rolling hills ,grazing sheep.Absolutely perfect for hikes or just relaxing. We we’re out and about most of the time didn’t care about the weather at all ,just enjoying it. Wi-Fi was good even though there was no reception which I absolutely loved it.There is a little spot outside the house where you can check you texts or missed calls and that’s it. We had great time maybe one of our best holidays ever.

If you want to step back in time to the Good Old Days, then this is what this pub is about! Customer service with a smile, old beams, character furniture, and creaky floors. Even the music brought back memories of my youth! The bedroom was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of hot water. My dog was welcomed warmly. In fact, dogs were welcomed throughout the village! The menu was varied, with a good choice, and I found the food to be delicious. I only stayed for one night as I was passing through Wales, and I'm so glad I did!

I don't travel too far from the property, as I am happy with the local context, but if you like travelling out, then there is lots on locally and further out of Llandovery. Lots of stillness, peace and enjoying the natural world. Due to allergies, cooking facilities in the property make it really easy for eating in. Solo and families can enjoy lots of walks. A scattering of independent shops and pubs to enjoy.

A beautiful area steeped in history. On the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons makes it the ideal stopover point to enjoy an overnight stay. As a solo traveler I found the locals friendly and easy to talk to, as one person said “a stranger is a friend I haven’t met yet”.

It was specifically chosen to enable us to visit two other small towns and a national trust property. Despite the museum being small it was very informative and the volunteers were excellent.Sadly the town gives the impression it has seen better days ,what shops were open however were all very friendly and the town had lots of beautiful floral displays and hanging baskets.

    This was perfect for me.

This was perfect for me. I enjoyed a mix of cycling and hiking as well as a visit to the nearby Dolaucothi Gold MIne, a National Trust property. Llandovery itself has plenty of places to eat. It's a 5 minute drive from Henllys, and parking after 6pm is free in the main Castle car park, which is convenient for the town centre.

    Llandovery is a Market Town.

Llandovery is a Market Town. It has a nice varierty of shops and places to eat all within easy walking distance. There is a post office, several pubs and hotels as well as the shops people use for general daily living. Several are antique shops of the sort you can spend all day browsing. The town is very local to the Brecons and not so far away of the coast or cities in West Wales and with the A40 going through it easy to get to most destinations. The A roads are excellent and the B roads aren't bad either so you have plenty of directions to travel to see the sights. There are plenty of things to see like Dinefwr Park and Castle, and Aberglasney Gardens down by Llandeilo or The Museum of Speed down by Pendine Sands. We picked up the Visitor Guide which contains a map, places to visit, events and things to do. We got ours in the hallway at the Kings Head Hotel and as it is put out buy the council should be available in many places.

We went to the Bear Inn primarily for the food. We wanted to stay somewhere that served good vegan food and lots of choice. We were not disappointed. There were many dishes to choose from as well as good vegan wine choices and knowledgeable staff. Being a pub on a busy road, you wouldn't expect it to be luxurious or quiet at night. However, visiting just after the Llandovery in Bloom competition, it did look very pretty.

It is a good Hotel with friendly staff, particularly Sue the Deputy Manager and the evening bar staff. There is ample parking in the rear car park (must input your reg at reception to get free parking). The meals are very good and plentiful served in the bar area or a more private area known as the Cwtch (pronounced 'kutch'). Breakfast offers a variety of hot (cooked fresh to order) or cold pastries, cereals etc.
