Charlotte is a warm and welcoming host who still believes in greeting her guests personally, where so many guest houses have key codes and DIY you often don't even meet the hosts. We appreciated good old fashioned service. We really loved Charlotte's delicious home cooked breakfast. A great selection of cereals, toasts and cooked breakfast choices. The guest house has plenty of parking and ideal for the ferry and walks to Brodick. When we arrived it was lovely to find the house super and warm after a chilly rain day. We were very grateful for Charlotte's inside information regards the ferry. Our ferry had been cancelled twice due to storms which happens often. We'd already stayed an extra night on Arran unexpectedly and if our ferry was cancelled again the guest house was full and we'd have to have found another room elsewhere. By ringing the terminal directly not their call centre we discovered there was just one ferry going still on yellow alert. Valuable local information from a local is king. We managed to leave Arrran finally albeit a bumpy ride to Troon.

We were doing the Arran coastal way and the first 3 nights we stayed here. Buses were easy to get (if times a little limited on a Sunday) so we made it back in time each afternoon. Deer roam the village (don't feed them - if they get too tame they need to be culled) and there are seals in the bay. The walks in the area are good.

The buses were great but not as frequent as I would have liked - but glad they were available. Machrie Moore stone circles was my favorite spot - would be great if that was a regular drop-off and pick-up stop.

Lochranza is a beautiful, quiet, scenic location for a tranquil holiday. It is very laid back and you can do as little or as much as you feel like. There is plenty to do from walking, cycling, camping, taking in the history which includes the castle. There is a distillery in lochranza that I would recommend you visit. There are a few local places where you can sit and enjoy a pint and a meal and if you are up for it stay in the bar as locals and visitors are very friendly. You also have the calmac ferry port that services Tarbet you can use this to do a day trip. All in all a beautiful part of Arran

Lochranza is beautiful and pristine - much like all of Arran however you experience more of a wilderness vibe than you do at the larger settlements such as Brodick or Whiting Bay. There is plenty to see and do in Lochranza, with wildlife galore! We managed to spot some otters! The scenery is just breathtaking.

Lochranza sits in a gorgeous glen , with a very good distillery, an excellent eatery - The Stag Pavillion, need to book way ahead. a moody ruin on the coast, great walks spanning out and up into the hills or along the coast.

brilliant location - you can walk from the lochranza ferry stop and there are bus stops near by we caught the ferry and took our car as lochranza is a bit isolated from the main parts of the island - Broddick and lamlash Bay but the bus does go there also the hostel overlooks the water and you can see the ruins of the Lochranza castle the Sandwich shop is great for food and coffee and again an easy walk loads of deer around and the ditillery also a lovely walk down the road perfect

The location of this property is stunning. Our room overlooked the waterfront and the castle. The room was comfortable, the en-suite modern and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of choices. The evening meal was equally as good as breakfast. Staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Parking was off road, adjacent to the property. The hotel is very close to the Lochranza ferry terminal.

The hosts were so friendly. They made sure you were looked after but at the same time, gave you sufficient privacy We had dinner and breakfast at the accommodation. The food was the best we had staying in Arran. Much better than other accommodations (including a particular 4 star hotel in Brodick) that we've stayed in Arran. The location was also beautiful and so peaceful too.

I was in a private room which was ensuite which I wasn't expecting. Lochranza was a quiet, peaceful spot nestled between some beautiful hills with views towards the western side of the Mull of Kintyre.
