I had the most wonderful stay with my dog. We arrived in ice and snow and were welcomed by a warm and toasty house. The cottage was cosy, functional and with outstanding views. I would and could have not asked for more - we explored all parts of Lewis and Harris and enjoyed evenings by the fire. It was a perfect base to marvel and discover this stunning corner of the world.

great hotel, amazing location but more importantly really really nice people. the hosts were super accommodating to our needs as cyclists, with great communication throughout with care and patience. they also went out of their way to help with our onward journey.

The b&b has one guest room and is run by Olive, the best host ever. She overwhelmed us with her kindness, generosity and care. The guest room is very quiet and absolute clean. We had a wonderful stay! Highly recommended!

    Like the rest of the islands, The towns are over rated.

    Like the rest of the islands, The towns are over rated. To stay out side and see the views, looking back to admire what is a very barren landscape, a hard life, the rolling hills, lochs, mussel farms, water falls, eagles, peace and quiet. Then you find a little place like this, it's got the lot. Eating is, out and about, coffee shops, sandwiches, buns, sweeties, there are centres , for visitors village shop, then Stornoway it's self. Bridgend cafe well worth a visit. Hs1 (night time book it) the crown hotel breakfasts, lunches, dinners, the county hotel. Getting around, you need transport of some sort,

    A stunningly beautiful area, used it as a base to explore...

    A stunningly beautiful area, used it as a base to explore the whole of Lewis and Harris. Lots of single track roads which give the passenger lots of time to take in the stunning views. The roads are very quiet, and everyone is courteous and gives way in the plentiful passing places. You'll get friendly waves when you give way. I would love to come again and spend more time just enjoying the views and the birdsong. Highly recommend the Ravenspoint Visitor Centre - wildlife watching, self-service cafe where you pay a donation, lovely museum of local life, staffed by friendly and very informative volunteers.

    The Lochs is an extraordinarily beautiful mixture of scattered small villages, small hills, big hills and (unsurprisingly!) lochs and lochans. It has a very interesting history and great walking tracks and paths.
