Nice village, not much there but easy to get to all the places we visited. Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Alnwick, seahouses to name but a few. The black bull inn is a fabulous pub and restaurant. Delicious food and the rooms are beautiful.Guest review bysandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautifil wee village with 2 very good pub / restaurarants at either end. A great spot to decamp and strike out to Bamburgh or some of the other glorious spots in this beautiful part of the country. It's one of those places you'd think too good too not keep secret! The Old Manse is a beautiful property with wonderful rooms and facilities. The breakfasts were delicious. Hattie the dog and Dyson the cat also gave us a warm welcome every time we returned. This B&B is perfectly located for visiting Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Berwick, and wonderful Northumberland beaches. There are wonderful walks and places of interest nearby. The hotel has been updated and we found the furniture and rooms to be of good quality. Our room was clean. It was above the bar/restaurant, and although we heard a small amount of music or chat, it did not disturb us. Any sounds were gone by about 9.30 pm so not a problem with sleeping. The house was spotless, well appointed and in a great location for both the coast and hills. A lot of thought gone into making sure guests have everything they need.
