The location is unbeatable and the photos represent the views exactly. From the patio you see the Isle of Skye, Egg and Rum. It is magnificent. This was a beautiful property. Every detail had been thought of. The location was perfect, very close to town. It was very comfortable and immaculately clean. The basics were all supplied. It was lovely to turn up to milk, wine and water in the fridge. A very thoughtful owner.

The room made perfect use of the available space, including tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. The items chosen for the complimentary Continental breakfast were high quality and a nice added touch. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure and lots of hot water. We ate in the restaurant one night and the dinner was superb. The hotel is also steps from the train station and ferry docks, which made it easy to catch our scheduled transportation. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history.

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history. The Mallaig Historical Centre is worth a visit to learn about the story and people behind the town. There are quite a few fabulous cafes and restaurants specialising in fresh fish and home baking. There is a lot of Harry Potter tourists due to the train and viaduct, but this does not distract too much from the enjoyment of a visit.

Mallaig is an active, attractive, village with trains from Fort William and ferries out to the islands and other peninsulas. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants with hotels and B&Bs. The location is stunning with gorgeous views of the beasutiful coast and islands. Lots to do and a fun, friendly place to stay.

We had a wee day in the town with gift shops etc, a trip to Skye the next but would have liked to take more boat trip if we'd been there longer. The shops and things closed quite early and as we had kids with us not sure if there's any "nightlife"

I felt that everyone we came across was out to give us a wonderful holiday. The Bake house is a must . Their Portuguese tarts and pecan/ maple buns are delicious. Coffee 5* The trip to Knydart from Mallaig was enhanced by the crew . They were so knowledgable about the area and shared it with us.

It's hilly, no good for people unable to walk well.

It's hilly, no good for people unable to walk well. I found the hills a bit challenging but of course the scenery is wonderful. It's also only a 45 minute crossing by ferry to reach the Isle of Skye, such a beautiful place. Also, the food is very good in Mallaig, especially the Crab and Creel - would definitely recommend their scallops, wonderful!

We stayed here for 1 night only to catch the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. The rooms were simple but functional. Ok for one night , would not stay here for a longer vacation though. A positive point was the breakfast, as we needed to leave at 8 am sharp, they prepared us the breakfast in a to go bag and it was really abundant. Very friendly staff.

Excellent accommodation right in the centre of Mallaig. It was a perfect little home from home! Had everything you could need. The views were spectacular. I am missing watching the sunrises and sunsets over the water! Spotlessly clean and very helpful and friendly owner. This will be my ‘go to’ now whenever I am in Mallaig.

We had a two night stay, not long enough. Spindrift is well equipped and a lot of thought has obviously gone into making it a home from home. We hope to return for a longer visit soon. Mallaig is a lovely little working fishing town with access to the Isle of Skye by ferry, but not as populated by tourists as Skye.
