Positioned between Shaftsbury and Sherborne, Marnhull is the perfect place to explore this area. Marnhull is a large village with a very rural feel. Avoid Love Lane it’s a single track road. The village has a lot going for it.
The village has a lot going for it. It's location is very good for the northern half of Dorset. The locals are very friendly and happy to pass the time of day with visitors. The 2 pubs are very welcoming and certainly worth a visit.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We liked being near the end of a lane, so that there was no passing traffic. The hosts were responsive, friendly, flexible and helpful, but left us to do our own thing. We appreciated the milk left in the fridge for a cuppa. We liked the plenty of window and glass doors (the kitchen door nicely opaqued) for light and ventilation. There were net curtains in the bedroom/living area, for privacy when needed, but easily drawn back to enjoy more light and the owner's garden and the field beyond.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom

Although compact, the kitchen has a small fridge, a two plate hob and microwave, plus plenty of utensils, pans etc so self catering is perfectly feasible - we ate in 3 nights out of 4. Marnhull is a lovely village, and the food at the Crown is great.
