We booked 2 rooms for a full week including one disabled access room for a wheelchair. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help & make us feel welcome. A mobile ramp was put in place for the wheelchair, & chairs & tables moved around as needed for access. Multiples weddings were on during our stay - seeing all the outfits and cars, & dresses rooms were beautiful. The building and grounds are stunning and adjacent gardens run by a Trust well worth the visit. Hard to believe the house was almost derelict just 15 years ago. As you'd expect of a historical building, floors are uneven & stairs creek. Corridors twist & turn & ceilings slope. But that all adds to the ambience & beauty of the venue. Lots of money being spent on renovation but without losing the beauty of the 17th century architecture. The Coach House is being renovated now & looks like its going to be amazing. One of our party was working throughout the visit at NEC - just a short hop on the train for £3.50 return saving the hastle of driving and cost if carparking. Food was lovely - especially steak night & Afternoon Tea. Lots of local pubs & restaurants when we went out.

Hotels, even cheap ones should provide comfortable beds and warmth when the weather turns cold either by putting on the heating or providing extra bed covers. This place offered neither option. Cups in the room were not washed out properly. The sink plug hole in one room was full of toilet paper. That was after changing rooms because the first room had a double bed with the mattress at 2 different levels. The breakfast was so bad we did not bother on the second day. Hotels that put the cheapest instant coffee in the room for guests almost always provide poor quality food if they have a restaurant attached. Avoid their restaurant and breakfast.

The staff was rude at check in, there was no signage to say where we needed to check in, the room was unclean and hadn't been clean the floor and bedding was dirty. The mattress was like sleeping on concrete, I booked a twin room and we got a double so they can't even read simple requirements on a booking or reservation. There was mould around the window, on the window sill, on the ceiling of the bathroom, all over the shower tiles & around the shower drain. The shower door didn't close properly to keep it shut you had to hold otherwise it would bounce back open. The water fluctuated between freezing cold and scolding hot. There was a used soap still in the shower from whoever used it last, we was told the bar would shut at midnight, it stayed open until later than that, also when we went to discuss our issues with a member of management the next morning as we had no choice but to stay there as our 3 hour journey turned into 6 hours due to traffic. There was no one to be found, I have tried calling to express my concerns and there has been no answer, I have also written to them via the booking.com app and I still haven't had an answer. I believe they choose to ignore myself and booking.com so they don't have to refund the money that was paid. In the morning my friend and I had to strip the bed as we both thought we could feel something crawling over us during the night, so in the morning we checked for bed bugs. My personal opinion, even though not everyone may agree but I do not think this should be a listing on booking.com. I also do not think they should be 3 star facility.

    Staff were friendly.

Staff were friendly. The lighting in the room was horrific and applying even eyeliner was a challenge with such. The beds were extremely uncomfortable none of us could actually sleep. The tea/coffee was very basic and there was no bottled water. The stench of sewage outside the building and in our bathrooms was very unwelcoming. There's no lift and I had to take 2 children and our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs to the family room.

This so called hotel is not a hotel but seemed like a working mens club with tacky rooms attached (possibly used for brothel purposes). The reception was the bar area. To get to the rooms you had to walk through a bar full of people in the bar and then through the pool room. The room itself was tiny, stank of smoke, was very basically decorated, the heater didn't work, no tea making facilities, just a dreadful room. The first thing I did was make a booking with another hotel and luckily got one despite it being Crufts. I left soon after arriving. That hotel was familiar with the reputation of the Minworth Lodge as offering dreadful accommodation. I paid good money for that room and the website is completely inaccurate - fraudulent even. Do not stay there!

Minworth Lodge is not HOTEL it is more like a working mens club. It was awful. We did not venture into Minworth itself as we were going to the NEC We should have stayed two nights but left after the first. We did not feel safe in the place as someone was trying to get into out room in the middle of the night. Could not speak to the owner as they did not answer their phone or reply to our messages

I visited the area to take my wife to a work event nearby, so this was just an overnight stay, cheap and cheerful / good value. The on site Breakfast was very good, although had to wait for the staff to come on duty to make it, so no early breakfast possible.
