We went for a lovely walk along the river.Areas to sit and enjoy the countryside.Everyone was friendly and said hello when passing . New Alresford is a small town with walks to the river and a traditional steam railway. So near to winchester with a good bus service. Relaxing, individual shops and a great place to relax. There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs. I would consider staying in New Alresford again and using public transport to get to winchester.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

Our host, Jen, kept us well informed, especially when my arrival plans changed. The house is located close to the centre of New Alresford and convenient for nearby attractions such as Jane Austen's House, the Watercress Line and Grange Opera Festival. The room was large and very comfortable and the bathroom was massive (we had the accessible room so not sure all rooms would have the same size bathroom). The shampoo/body wash/conditioner/body lotion also deserve a mention as they were good quality with nice scents. The hotel is in a great location to explore the town.
