The landlord Collin is very kind, he explained about things to do and walks in the country. Breakfast is excellent. Location is very good, because you can sail on a steamer to go to Bowness on Windermere or to Ambleside. You can also travel by short track steamtrain, which is very pleasant. You can watch sea animals in an aquarium.

I had a great solo stay at Sawrey House. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and very comfortable. David is a fantastic host—kind, welcoming, and very accommodating. I truly enjoyed my time here and would love to come back. Highly recommended!

    Traditional hotel, but clean and well decorated We were there lass that 24 hrs but found the staff to be pleasant and the food good It was a perfect stop over on the way to Scotland - but could have stayyed longer

    Great location and beautiful looking hotel and spa, two night stay, bed size real issue, very small double, well used bed, dated hotel. Pool and sauna and steam room was ok, pool cold. Food great on valentine's night, waited very long time after asking multiple staff for a drink. Second night restaurant food, not good cold food, kitchen staff argument and lots of ppl getting the wrong food. Staff look like they have been working 16 hour shifts. Unorganised mess at times, very short staffed. Hotel needs an injection of cash, spent on it asap. Get rid of the awful curtains..

    Newby Bridge is a very old and characterful area.

    Newby Bridge is a very old and characterful area. There aren't any pubs other than the Swan Hotel and Lakeside Hotel , which are great. The walks are wonderful around the lake . Will return when the steam train is running.

    We had a great stay.

    We had a great stay. We travelled around the lakes taking in places of interest. We felt 5 days would have done instead of 7 days. The site needed some maintenance around the grounds, trees could have been better maintained and ground cover cut back. It's ideal for people wanting a quiet stay but is handy for the tourist attractions.

    Beautiful location with plenty of places to visit nearby.

    Beautiful location with plenty of places to visit nearby. We take the steam railway a short walk away to lake Windermere and then a boat trip. Suits us. The hotel also has a gym and swimming pool facility which is a nice bonus.

    Car park was too far from the hotel but everything else were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were lovely in the restaurant. Location was great and easy to get to. We enjoyed the Lake District, the boat and steam train ride. The room was lovely and clean and well laid out. We didn't have to go to far to get to our room. The bed and pillows were rather comfy. The hotel staff were really lovely, friendly, polite and helpful. Overall hospitality was excellent.

    Absolutely stunning hotel all the staff were super friendly The swimming pool is quite small but all you need to chill out and enjoy the Spa facilities which includes the Jacuzzi Steam room and Sauna very relaxing. The Bedroom was very nice with a super large comfortable bed with a nice shower which was super clean. The Breakfast is not a buffet style you get table service which was delightful and a really good choice the breakfast was cooked to perfection.

    Very modern, clean and comfortable. Very spacious and every thing required. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes, very comfortable beds!! Lovely luxury bath sheets and hand towels. Kitchen/living area spacious and all kitchen items required for self catering. Laundry facilities great too! Location is very good for visiting all towns nearby. Rusland Pool pub/hotel has a great menu and Large petrol station nearby has supermarket and Costa!

    We had amazing stay at The Lakeside. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was so special for us. The location it’s super, the view it’s beautiful, the outside setting it’s so lovely and very inviting. The staff are the best, they really look after us. Both restaurants are very nice, they have the Brasserie and the more fine dining. Breakfast was very nice too. We will definitely stay at Lakeside hotel again. Thank you
