I liked the peace and quiet of the village, Also the staff were very helpful and friendly, i did not have breakfast because i got called away in the job i do, I did have a take away pizza , i thought it was overpriced and not the type of hot n spicy i normally would have, This is an ideal stop over for someone like me doing the type of job i do, i can be anywhere at anytime, so it suited me , The room was ok, ive had better, ive had a lot worse, could do with some kind of air- conditioning as i felt very stuffy and with the window being broken on the latch, it added up too be just a little uncomfortable. nice touch at the bar if you order a take away you get a free half a pint. definately recommend to single travelers who need to stay one night somewhere decent at a fair price. A small quiet place, with some possibilities for cycling and...
A small quiet place, with some possibilities for cycling and walking. The main reason for my visit was for an afternoon reception at Repton under 2 miles distant. I took a short walk along the nearby river on the Friday evening, and on the Saturday morning cycled to the Foremark reservoir, an attractive location about 9 miles away. A small cafe provided coffee and light refreshments, with some sailing and windsurfing activity visible at the club on the opposite shore. I cycled back to Derby on the Sunday via the nearby Greenway which follows an old railway line, an excellent traffic free track suitable for cycling and walking. A main road runs through Newton Solney with light traffic during my weekend visit.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom
